Black Screen when booting game

Good evening,
I am new to the Dolphin Emulator, and am having an issue with running Wii games. I can view the games that I should be able to (albeit without the banner), but when I try to run these, another
window pops up, a small black window. Both that and the emulator freeze indefinitely. Task Manager has to be used to close and reopen the emulator.

The computer I am using is a fairly low-end PC, with no additional graphical processing power added to it. Reinstalling the emulator hasn't had an impact.

I have tried opening these games with the log open too, to try and see what is happening. I get four lines:
1. Saving configured settings
2. Wiimote is not connected (I am hoping to use my keyboard instead of a controller)
3. Initialisation of Wiimote (I think?)
4. Booting game from its location

Thanks in advance for any help with this issue.

4.0 is a very old version of Dolphin that we can't help you with. Please try the latest beta version (if that computer can run it).

Ah okay, thank you very much. I have installed the updated version, and it now works very well for Gamecube games.

My only other concern is that the Wii games still do not load properly (again the black screen), and have the Gamecube icon next to them in the emulator menu. I have seen that others have had this issue on the forum in the past couple of days, and that the advice was to redump the games. This has made no difference, so perhaps I have done something wrong? - this was not an issue before but has become so in the updating.

Many thanks for your assistance.

What format did you dump the games to?

The game file names end .nkit, the computer classes it as a Disc Image File

Then that's your problem. Don't convert the games to NKit after dumping them, just keep them in the format that the dumping program outputs (or convert to RVZ if you want to).
