Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but I noticed that Billy Hatcher is supposed to have texture cache set to safe according to the wiki (https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=Billy_Hatcher_and_the_Giant_Egg) yet Dolphin seems to have its default configuration not set it to safe and instead halfway (Picture provided). Not only is this just wrong it is flat out annoying for me because I normally keep texture cache set to safe by default, so this sets it at a setting that is also undesirable for me. Is there any way I can report this error or at the very least just set it to stop auto configuring the texture cache on my end (I know about user config I just don't know what setting I would type into it)?

Are the issues still present in the latest version of Dolphin with the texture cache set to midway? or do the textures show up correctly now? If so, then there is no reason to put it to safe because it will only make your games run slower than needed.
Check my profile for up to date specs.

Yes, I believe I did have an error. I didn't screencap it though because originally I thought I had my texture cache not set on safe (I reset Dolphin due to a Windows wipe). I'll have to play the game for a bit again to get an example. As for making my games "run slower than needed" I don't actually care about it running fast at 1080p with all the texture enhancements, I care about accuracy. So if I ever run into slowdown the first thing I do is turn off the enhancements and then lower the resolution. My computer specs (posted on my profile) are perfect for running Dolphin anyways so I never had a problem with texture cache set to safe. I can understand why some people want to not put it on safe but for me this is just flat out annoying to deal with. If the developers set it to only be set halfway so people won't notice any major problems while not sacrificing playability that is perfectly fine but I can run it at safe texture cache so would like to know what setting to change in the default config for the game.
Quick Edit: Just got up, forgot to mention I always run on the latest development build for Dolphin.
Quick Edit: Didn't want to make another post just to say I got a screenshot of the error. The game normally loads the text one character after another, however with texture cache set to midway it sometimes fails to load a character or two. It corrects itself rather quickly so I took a screenshot of it in mid dialogue but this does prove that there is a problem and I wasn't seeing things (there is a comma after Menie-Funie missing and the letter "f" is missing from the word "of").

You could edit the ini file for the game. Right click on the game in Dolphin -> Properties -> Game config -> Editor -> Default Config -> Presets -> Editor -> Open in external editor

Search for SafeTextureCacheColorSamples = 512 in there, and either delete the line, making Dolphin use your global setting for the game, or change it to SafeTextureCacheColorSamples = 0, to force safe hashing for the game.

It's not an ideal solution, and it should only work until you properly update Dolphin, but it's something you can do yourself.

For a proper solution, find a texture in the game that is not working properly with medium hashing, and report it here on the forums with screenshots. If you do this, Dolphin will be updated to always use safe hashing for this game.

Oh, i meant 2 screenshots, one with safe hashing where it does work properly, and one with medium(512) hashing, with the issue. You should either post it here, or in the thead of the game:

(the last post is from 2013, but it shouldn't be necroposting if you post there...)

Ok, I'm kinda busy most of the time so I won't be able to get better screenshots right away so I'll probably either make a new post in the support forums or the game specific thread on the Gamecube forums. Thanks for your help.
