Hello all,

I bought a (cheap) Big Ben sensor bar for use with Dolphin (using candles worked fine but i don't want to risk burning the house down!)

The sensor comes with 4 AAA batteries plus a cable to connect to Wii usb in case you want to use it as a wired sensor instead of wireless. My question is:

Has anyone tried a cable modification with this sensor to draw power from a PC usb?

I have seen a couple of conversion videos but i don't know if the PC usb power is enough or too much to drive the BigBen's sensor's leds.

If anyone has done this, please let me know.

The main reason for the 4 batteries was to over come the low powered usb/wireless types. The ultra bar is another example. If you want to mess with resistors and what not start with a cheep wireless bar and go from there. I have a hand full of brand new ones so PM me if you want one. I only ask for shipping. Its too easy to make a mistake and burn a bar up.
