So it's been quite a while since I got Dolphin and I was thinking I should get a newer version, I have 4.0.2 I believe but I don't have Inet at home where my comp is. Anyways I was wondering what the best most stable version of dolphin is so I can upgrade.

Always use the latest development builds you can get under the download section.

4.0-5394 fixes a crash that can happen when opening the graphics settings, so I would say that 4.0-5390 is less stable. There isn't really any reason to use old development builds unless you know for sure that there's a problem in newer ones.

Well I haven't seen any crashes of any kind in 4.0-5390 even when opening the graphics settings.

Christ sake, it doesn't matter what the h*** I'm saying or recommending there is always something wrong with it.

Don't use 4.0.2 because it's old, OK so I finally switch to newer 4.0-development builds and when I finally found one that is stable enough for me then there is something wrong with that too.

Seriously, what the h*** do you want from me?

And 4.0-5390 being old? WTF? It's 1 day, 17 hours old, how the h*** can it be old.

Old development builds usually just mean "not latest' whether it's 1 second old or 3 years old. There was a silly bug in OpenGL recently fixed that caused crashes after running a game and opening the graphics menu; that's the kind of thing that a release process needs to catch.

Hmm OK, now I understand why I didn't get that bug/crash.

When I'm done playing a game, I close Dolphin before I play another game an I never touch settings after playing a game.
I always close Dolphin or any other emulator before I tinker with settings, then I close it again before playing.

That way I don't get stupid bugs or crashes.
