That's right . Dolphin is a dual core app . So no matter how may threads that i7 has , you still get the same performance as i5

Kool, just wanted to clear that up because I was under the impression that the 2600k would underperform even when overclocked or something. As I mentioned earlier, the only reason I am considering getting the 2600k is because I also video edit and hyperthreading would be useful for that so I was looking at a relatively cheap processor that is good for gaming AND video editing (the i5 2500k and the 2600k are pretty much the same price nowadays so why not right?) Unless you can suggest a better alternative?

really haswell is the best way to go right now if you have the money because of how much better it is in dolphin than ivy brigde.
