I was just wondering if anyone has had any luck with the PowerA Gamecube Wireless controller. I bought it for Smash Ultimate and other Switch games, but I figured it might also be fun to use with Dolphin.
The first problem I noticed is that when configuring the sticks, they would often not reset to the original positions, so I had to carefully configure them to reset to their rest positions. After setting up the rest of the buttons, I noticed that some games just simply would not accept quick button inputs which I assumed was either due to bluetooth connection or just that the threshold was too high? Does anyone have a configuration that makes it play like the real deal?

Is it a GC controller or like a switch pro controller?

It's a Switch Pro Controller designed as a Gamecube one.

I am also living in hope that someone will write an Xinput driver for this controller (or dolphin will provide native support somehow).

For once the build quality and design of a 3rd party manufacturer DIDN'T disappoint me - but then connected it to find that it wasn't Xinput!!

The PowerA GameCube controller is probably the most frustrating purchase I made in 2018...

Why would you expect a Switch product (nintendo) to support Xinput (microsoft)?

I didn't. But I actually did manage to get it working once I reconnected it with the default settings. You just have to carefully reset the stick to rest and make sure all other stick configs are deleted if they were off center. You can lock or delete this thread if need be.

I bought this in the hopes I could use it with Switch AND Dolphin (on Mac). Trying to configure this controller and I was pleased that my computer did recognise it. But the following issues are occurring when I'm configuring the controller:

- it won't recognise the left analogue stick (other than the button you click in - the L3, if you will). I can set the directions but it doesn't work in game and it also doesn't show i'm pushing a particular direction on the axis in the controller config screen.

- it only recognises up and down on the c-stick (not left or right)

Is there any chance these issues will get fixed?

Any updates on this? i foolishly just got the controller thinking it would work.
I guess the triggers aren't even analog?

I've been doing some testing, I can get the steam to work quite well with steam but it's not working correctly with dolphin.
I tried adding dolphin as a non-steam game to steam, but it did not make it work any better.

Sadly, I don't really know what else to say to help. I initially made this thread, because I had issues with deadzones and the controller sticks acting wonky, but once I reconnected it and carefully reset the analogue to neutral before mapping the other directions it worked flawlessly for me. And yes, the triggers appear to be digital.
