Best configuration for keyboard and mouse only?

I was wondering what do you think the best set up for playing Super Mario galaxy using only a keyboard and mouse? I used to have my xbox 360 controller which worked well but it was hard too alternate with the mouse (to get the star bits or whatever they are called)...
