Battalion Wars 1 is one of the most demanding games i have found for Dolphin, and weirdly it is also a gamecube game. Using a Core i - 7 @ at 3,2 Ghz i am having 15 - 20 fps in scenes with a lot of trees - units (try the first mission for example) even when i use the best performance settings there are (efb to texture,1x efb scale, no antialiasing, etc.). It seems that there is some cpu bottleneck because no (gpu or general) settings i use can alter the result the slightest(except perhaps enabling xfb which makes trees flicker a lot and fps fluctuate in sync with the flickering, so i wouldn't count it) . There was a lot of talk about the Twilight Princess slowdowns, which weirdly are nothing compared to what happens in this game. And since no one have even talked about it up to this point i decided to put this into consideration and hopefully some dev can give some answers for what causes these extreme slowdowns. Maybe a solution to these slowdowns can help other games too Huh, who knows....

Needing a core i7 at 6,4 ghz to run a gamecube game at 30fps with dolphin with the best performance settings seems just ... wrong, i don't know...

It did run well many revs ago, I'm not sure when it got slow, try 2000-3000 revs ago. I got usually 30+FPS at any time

Thanks for the advise. I tried using the oldest build i had in my computer at the moment (r4727) and there is a big difference in performance since i get a minimum of 25 fps up from 16 in areas with a lot of objects, trees, etc.(more than 40% speedup). I will try even older builds and try to figure out when it started becoming sluggish.

Edit: Ok i tried to tinker around with the options in the 4727 build i have and tinkering with the watchdog by putting a low value seems to have an effect in this game's minimum framerate. It jumped up to 30 in most occasions with a few dips to 27. I will investigate a bit more...
2nd Edit: I also tried a 37## build and got similar results as 4727. This game had 25fps minimum with 4727 and went down to 16 using the latest build. Performance has dropped by 40% approximately, and my guess is that the cpu core responsible for the gpu is responsible in a way(since the slowdowns occur with many objects at the screen, and gpu settings don't affect it). Hope a dev can clear things up.
