I'm new to using Gamecube emulators, and I was trying to run Baten Kaitos (the main site says it's fully playable, right?), but as soon as the company logo screens finish, the game just hangs at a black screen. I'm using version SVN 3972 of the emulator.

What can I do to fix this?

First, try using the newest rev in the main page, 3972 is a a little old... If it doesn't work, post your specs

Well, that fixed that issue at least, though I have a few new ones now.

First off, there's no audio in the cinematic before the title screen. And once in the game, I got a TON of slowdown when accessing the in-game menu.

My computer specs are: 2.8Ghz Quad Core processor, 2GB RAM, nVidia GeForce 8800 GT graphics card, Windows XP Pro operating system.

Are you using the D3D9 plugin? It should be faster... For the sound, I don't know much since I don't have this game, might be more bugs, but they will be fixed soon, I guess...

It won't give me the option to switch to the D3D9 plugin.

I downloaded and installed that, but whenever I try to run the game using the D3D9 plugin, the emulator crashes.

Ooooooh, I know, I know. Go to configurations and enable Panic Handlers; You should see something about memory pointer and theeeen it crashes, so, welcome aboard >_> I have this problem too, since r4505... Download this revision from Orleans, it's the one I use here:

And it should work...

Woo, that fixed it. And the slowdown problem with this game is fixed now too. Thanks a lot.
