I want to start off by saying this emulator has made some great progress, last time I checked (which could well be a year ago '^^) I couldn't hope of running a gamecube game decently, now I just downloaded this to test on a whim, and got way better results than I expected Big Grin

But, I'm a total newbie at this, so it would be great if you all could help me out.
the compatibility list lists this as fully playable, and I haven't had it crash, but I do have some problems.

To start off, I don't get sound in the opening cinematic, I have read several games having sound-issues, so I'm guessing this is normal?
If so, can anyone tell me if the game has a lot of these kind of movies?
I haven't played this myself, my gamecube is broken (well, actually a broken one I got from a friend along with this game).

Also, and this is my main question,
When a movie (the opening) plays, the screen flickers, and it's pretty dark.
the fps go to about 60, and stay there. I can make out what happens, but if there is anything I can do to fix this that would be great Smile (perfect even)

I noticed turning on the dual core option gives me a good speed boost, and once I can run around everything works perfectly, background music, voices, graphics, no problems at all. BUT, the screen flickers worse in the opening with this option on...

I'm not expecting any magic fixes, I know the emu is still being worked on, but seeing how I got it to work this well without knowing anything about emulation, There're probably some stuff I don't know about that could fix my last little issues Smile

I haven't played farther than the first savepoint, so I don't know how battles and different location will react, but for now I'm just trying to get everything configured.

I'm not running this on a game-oriented system at all (because I don't have one '^^), it's just my laptop for school, but I get 30 fps and good graphics, so I guess it's strong enough Smile
laptop:
32 bit vista
4 GB ram
processor: intel® core™2 duo CPU P8600 @ 2.40 GHz

I don't know much/anything about computers either, so please tell me if you need more info Smile

EDIT:
I tried baten kaitos 1 as well, and it also doesn't have sound in the opening, but no flickering, it works perfectly aside from some small graphic glitches(again, congratz on the emulator).
But what I have noticed is that it always says the memory card is corrupted, even though it worked with origins...

Ehm, I don't mind waiting for a reply, but is my question posted in the wrong place or something? Or is it a 'noob' question which is not supposed to be asked?
...Or is it the length of the post? '^^

Your problem with Origins only happens at the intro, but saying that: BK 1 intro has no problems for me, i'll post my settings for the game here in a while, can't atm. Other bugs that could annoy you, depending are: Because the game's rendering is a mix of 3d models and 2d sprites there is a bug with the render orientation, meaning 3d 'matter' is always rendered in front of the 2d 'matter' eg: you walk past a table or a bench but you actually walk over it. For the most part its not too noticable, and its a small price to pay for the beautiful up-scaling.

The 2nd and possibly bigger, yet option bug is the widescreen glitch, again because of the 3d mods, and 2d sprites, when the widescreen hack is enabled as you may already know its only 3d artifacts that get the widescreen affect, but they go off-center a bit, which you wouldn't notice normally, but because of the 2d environment it means doors and stairs etc are off-skew, as in: you have to walk to the left side of a door to actually go through it, but again you dont have to turn the widescreen hack on if you don't want to.

They're great games btw.
