Out of curiosity, has anybody compiled a list of all the GameCube menu banner and memory card icons and game descriptions? I'm talking about this stuff:

not that i know off. you could easily do it with tools like dolphin of gc-tool (for gamecube) but this is a huge task as the icons are per game different AND the descriptions can change depending on region..

Well, I've started a WIP list of all the GameCube banners, icons, descriptions, and memory card info. To make things easy on me, I'm just gonna do the US ones: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1q-sHKn0...sp=sharing

Please note that I have never owned/played some of these games and got most of these saves off GameFAQs, so some of the memory card info may be wrong.

The entries that don't have a banner/icon are saves I have on my physical memory card but I don't have the ISOs to.

If anyone else would like to help out it'd be much appreciated.

As a side note, the following games don't seem to have banners? (the compatibility chart has the "X" banner for all of them)
Doubutsu no Mori/Animal Crossing e+
Franklin: A Birthday Surprise
MaxPlay Classic Games
NHL Hitz 2002
One Piece: Treasure Battle
Phantasy Star Online I & II Plus/Trial Edition
Phantasy Star Online III Trial Edition
Ribbit King Plus
Scooby Doo Mystery Mayhem
SD Gundam Gashapon Wars (GC)
Taxi 3

i don't know about the trial versions, but the plus version most certainly has banners. they should be the same as version 1.0 & 1.1

also, don't you have a modded wii or gamecube? you can dump a memory card to sd/pc using homebrew

I do not. I don't want to risk totally breaking my Wii by homebrewing it. Undecided

This is both unlikely and easy to replace (or get a different one in the first place).

agreed to this.

all you need is bootmii (not needed, but highly recommended) , the homebrew channel and an app like GCMM or my own ctr-gcs ( but i don't recommend ctr-gcs, as it was more of a Proof of concept that later got integrated in libogc and GCMM more safely)

Some years ago, delroth developed a small app that grabbed the banner images from Dolphin's game list cache and uploaded to the website. Unfortunately, the app doesn't work anymore and hasn't updated since, but you can see the banners that were grabbed at https://dolphin-emu.org/compat/ (no description text, though)...

So I noticed that in the Info tab under properties there's "Maker ID" followed by what I assume to be the address (0x##). Does anyone know where the IDs are located in the GameCube BIOS? I've tried looking through IPL.bin in a hex editor but it's mostly just a bunch of random characters.

AFAIK that's stored in the game's opening.bnr file (located at the root of the disc), not on the IPL. If you just want Publisher names based on the game ID we have a rather extensive list on this wiki page...
