I have a copy of the Zelda: Collector's Edition disc that I dumped with CleanRip. Around the 94% mark, it had a motor error (so I have a bad sector on the disc at that point) and it stopped dumping, but I still have the mostly-dumped disc (1.38 GB instead of 1.46 like the rest of my GC games). When I play the two NES and N64 games on my Wii, they still run (at least as far as I have gotten into the games), the only part that has problems is the Wind Waker demo (thankfully, I own the actual game so I'm not worried about that).

Given the above, do you think I might have a pretty decent chance of playing Majora's Mask all the way through with the damaged iso? I checked and I was able to go through some of the MM intro in Dolphin.

Sounds like something's gotta give, sooner or later. It might be a small problem, or game breaking one. Could happen shortly into the game, or towards the very end, it's kinda hard to say. It shouldn't be a big deal, however. Save often (save states and emulated memory card) and when you do encounter a problem, just redump the game and swap out the bad ISO.

Wouldn't this be kind of pointless if there are chances of it happening again? If it is a disc problem, he won't be getting the whole dump unless he buys a new disc.

This. The disc has a very small scratch at the very edge of the disc that is the bad sector (it's pretty hard to see but if you look closely enough you can tell it was just barely damaged, but enough to cause it to have problems reading the disc). I'm hoping that the damaged area that is not part of the WW demo is part of OOT, the original LoZ, or LoZ II (all three of which I have on my 3DS).

I'll use the save states a lot. If I have problems I'll just wait it out for a possible 3DS remake or buy the VC title on the Wii (which I have read just contains an N64 ROM wrapped in a wad so I could use Project 64 with it).

The "motor stopped/off" errors don't necessarily mean the disc itself is bad, and I think they're both pretty common (and perhaps random?) issues with CleanRip 1.0.4. I also think CleanRip has other error messages denoting when something can't be read (like "UnRecoverd read error"). CleanRip has been updated to 1.0.5 recently, and it claims to have fixed the "motor off" issue. People have gotten this error before but have successfully dumped with other tools. But since the OP says the disc is physically damaged, the point is moot.

I recommend putting it on Project 64 and using Glide 64 to get it hi res. Then take it a step further and download Dilipi's hi res cel shaded textures. If you need any help concering that tid bit, PM me.

You may have the luck of the bad sectors that couldn't be dumped be just garbage data (pretty common on the GC games)...

Can someone post up a description/picture of the file system of the Collector's Edition disc along with file sizes? I extracted all of the files and I may be able to see which files are missing data by looking at the file sizes (use Windows please, Mac OS X doesn't show the correct file size; on a Mac, 1 GB = 1000 MB, but on Windows (and for anyone who understands binary) 1 GB = 1024 MB; I don't know how Linux does it but I would assume it is correct).

To extract the files from the ISO, go to the game in the menu in Dolphin, right-click and select Properties. Under the Filesystem tab, right click a file and select "extract all" and put it in a folder. Screen shot that folder (with full file sizes in bytes!) or post up name and size (in bytes) for each file.

If you successfully extracted all files, your dump are ok and the bad sectors are garbage data... Dolphin would have crashed when extracting files if some of them got corruped (at least for me it alwasy crash on incomplete dumps)...

The only thing is I know that the Wind Waker demo is broken, so I think that your dumps are just bad enough that it crashes, while mine is fairly OK.
