I know Ugoo touched upon this subject sort of in another thread but I have a slightly different Question to this matter. If Dolphin can Enhance any Gamecube and Wii game (for the most part) to much higher resolution and quality and graphics than what the Wii and Gamecube was capable of without rewriting any part of the games, why couldn't Nintendo do that with the Wii2. I'm pretty sure that none of the Dolphin code rewrites the games unless I'm mistaken so why couldn't a game console do the exact same thing?
Core2Quad Q6700@2600MHz / Asus P5QL-VM DO / 4GB DDR2 PC2-6400 RAM / Geforce 8800GTS (G92-512MB) / X-Fi XtremeMusic / Win7 Pro 64bit / Ps2 controllers for GC and 2 Real Nintendo WiiMotes for the Wii

Rendering at 1280x720 or 1920x1080 does take more power of the graphics card and processor, but I'm unable to say with 100% precision whether Wii hardware can support it even in theory or not (or did they leave the maximum output at 480p just in case, which is the current maximum).

As a cautious guess I'd say Wii2 would need improved hardware or graphics processing unit to render at similar resolutions as PS3 or Xbox360. The current wii's hardware is very likely too weak to render games at higher resolutions at reasonable frame rates.

So, of course Wii2 could retain backwards compatibility and improve resolutions like dolphin does, but the console could cost more and generate larger amounts of heat due to a better gpu.

afaik, the xfb or efb doesn't allow anything higher. i should write a homebrew to force it tho Tongue

EDIT: 1920x1080 resulted in a black screen. im guessing the wii just can't take it
or that resolution just takes up to much of the reserved mem block for the xfb
EDIT2: 1280x720 was just garbled video. meaning it didn't like it either
EDIT3: and 800x600 just didn't give any video signal... AWESOME >_>
EDIT4: 740x600 (yeye custom shut up) "worked" (shit was waaaaaay out of the screen but it kinda accepted it) Tongue
750x600 seemed to start colouring issues meaning its starting to overwrite shit/cause issues

Great, I sure hope not. Dodgy The amount of 3D games that are being rendered in 1080P can be counted on one hand, even 720P is not a given in most games on the 360 and PS3.

You might have software the whole 3D rasterizer, or copy and scale the pixels into fake FB in RAM, then manually sending out the fake FB to the video encoder yourself, but can you really get access to TV out like that?
