Just some info, this same issue happens in Xebra, the psx emulator, if the value of the min, mid, and max are set too low. Highering these values fixes in Xebra, but what exactly do they refer to, I don't know.
Audio starts to produce static noises after 1:30 hours of play

Was lurking around and came across this, so I wanted to say I also have experienced this issue. It's been some time since I played with dolphin, but this for me goes back as far as v3.0-600ish when I used to play endless hours of xenoblade chronicles. Didn't matter what settings I chose, audio backend, hle/lle, eventually the sound would just fizzle out and get all crackly. I never did find a solution and accepted that it had to be a fault.
My system is similar, my specs are: 2500k@4.6ghz, 8gb 1600mhz ram, gtx560, and asrock p67 extreme mobo. The sound issue has happened for me in xenoblade chronicles, zelda: skyward sword, and if I remember correctly.. no more heroes 2. 06-10-2013, 10:19 AM
I'm experiencing this problem as well. I've followed the various threads complaining about this issue and have tried all the solutions posted. None of them worked unfortunately. I'm experiencing this in Xenoblade Chronicles and Pandora's Tower. I suspect it might have to do something with how the audio is being handled when the FPS drops which does happen from time to time. Odd thing is I have not experienced this while playing Muramasa. With Muramasa I always have 60 FPS no matter what, and so it seems no static noises occur. Maybe that's why? I don't know. I only hear static noises occur with Dolphin. Nothing else.
Dolphin version is 3.5-367. System spec is GTX 670 FTW, i5-2550k @ 4.5GHz 1.375v, 8gb 1600MHz ram. I'm using an external amplifier to hear the game. 06-10-2013, 11:24 AM

The static noises are still present in both, and it's even worse in 3.5-1393 where the static noise is more frequent but not as annoying in the stable 3.5. I tested it in Pandora's Tower opening scene, and the ending scenes I have for the game. 06-10-2013, 11:25 PM
From what has happened to me and what I have read from others, the problem happens in any version of Dolphin tried by the testers (I sure there may be some exceptions, but I have not come across them).

I don't think it has anything to do with your frames per second, because I always get 60fps in every game and it still occurs after 90 minutes.

In order to achieve your goal, you have to work very hard

Ok, this problem is definitely widespread and we have to fix it before the next release. Because there seems to be very little interest for this bug in the dev team (it's hard to reproduce and not clear what happens at all), anyone who manages to fix the bug will be given 100 euros (~$130), paid via an Amazon wishlist.
To help debugging this issue: could someone check if this issue can be heard using the Dolphin audio dumping feature? If the sound is broken in audiodump.wav, this makes it a DSP emulation bug. If the sound is not broken in audiodump.wav, it's likely to be an AudioCommon/backends bug instead. 07-06-2013, 01:54 AM

LLE or HLE does it matter to you? I could use my laptop for LLE, because my desktops CPU can't really handle it. |
