I read that the sound is supposed to work in Skies of Arcadia, I tried it on the latest version of the emulator, but the sound doesn't work properly. It does work on the intro movie, and on the new game/load menu, but in the first cutscene it works really bad, skips a lot of notes. Am I doing something wrong here?

I already reported before, but they still didn't change it from being in a "Perfect" state. >.> Skies of Arcadia isn't the only one it happens to aswell. (Tales of Symphonia, Pokemon Colosseum) Would be nice if a dev could explain why it's happing. 09-17-2009, 11:44 AM
Yeah, Tales of Symphonia drops a lot of notes in the background music. The voice-acting is as clear as a bell, though.

Would like to note that pikmin 2 works perfectly in orleans build 4298, with safe textures cache enabled. This includes all sounds and textures, as far as I can tell (only 3 days into the game)
Also pikmin one works without a hitch on the latest unofficial build and the latest orleans build. Includes sound, textures, pretty much everything. 09-24-2009, 12:20 AM
Hmm..
I'm just wondering what happened to the amazing DSP development and progress which was going steady for a while and now seems to died down, did luigi2us go on vacation? There is still some minor problems and glitches with DSP emulation, while the glitches are essentially minor it is still enough to ruin the momentum of game play for games where music or sound lends to the atmosphere of the game. For example music and in some instances sound effects cut out in the following games: All Gamecube and Wii Resident Evil games, not sure about Umbrella Chronicles. Zelda: Twilight Princess There are some other games which suffer with the same issues, others with minor sound oddities such as incorrect sounds, missing notes and instrumental sounds. 09-25-2009, 02:19 PM

LordMarks AFC looping hack in Revision 4111 causes sound oddities in games such as Zelda Windwaker such as a weird echoing of environmental and instrumental sounds, noticeable when using the Windwaker item. It also causes the music and sound to cut out in Twilight Princess in random instances such as Hyrule Field, goat herding, Goron Mines or other random instances throughout the game.
The solution is to use a revision or a DSP plugin prior to revision 4111, but you also sacrifice the intro music in Twilight Princess and some other music/sounds which the AFC looping hack fixed. An old DSP plugin can be used with a new revision and the DX9 plugin, however you will be unable to configure the DSP plugin as it just crashes the emulator when you click the configure button for the DSP plugin. Best thing to do is let developers take notice of this problem and let them fix this issues that resulted with this revision. I'm fairly certain there's a much better way to implement this without it causing sound breakage or oddities in these games. 09-27-2009, 04:26 AM
In Zelda TP, well when reaching certain areas sometimes or in big areas with a lot of ennemies there sound start bugging, gradually then disappears. I don't know why, but I hope that will be fixed because I have to save and re-open the game. D:
I use Dolphin Orleans build with DirectX anyways.. 09-27-2009, 07:55 AM
As mentioned the sound bugs out because of revision 4111 commit for the AFC looping hack, this commit caused sound oddities in games like Windwaker and Twilight Princess.
In Windwaker all this problem does is cause a weird echoing of environmental effects and the music from the Windwaker item. However in Twilight Princess it causes the sound to bug out and stop playing. The only way this will be fixed is if a developer takes note of this report and fixes the sound oddities or problems that revision 4111 caused with some games. 09-28-2009, 06:37 PM
We could also revert 4111 in the meanwhile. The benefits don't seem to be worth the trouble..
