I am having similar issues with both 3.5-33 and 3.5-79 before and after the AX-HLE merge with games like Wind Waker and ToS(GC) aftrer several hours the audio will sound like its coming through a running fan. this is with LLE audio and XAudio2 and 48khz sound. since that is what I normally play with

Defender....LLE bogs my PC down and I take a tremendous hit on framerate whilst using it. Any way to speed up Dolhpin using LLE? I'm on a fairly fast rig:
Windows 7 Intel Core i7 950 OC'ed to 4.0Ghz nvidia EVGA GTX 680 6GB DDR3 Ram
Try LLE on Thread (but with some game that cause crash, SMG2)
and check Accurate VBeam Accuracy (in game config) (can cause crash too)

MSI N560Gtx Ti TwinFrozr II/oc @990MHz-1.062v RVL-CNT-01-TR with ToshibaStack
Taking this out of the Wind Waker thread because it seems to be an issue for many games.
There appears to be an issue introduced sometime between 3.0 and 3.5 that causes the audio to get all staticky and out of sequence slightly. It fixes itself only to return later. It appears whether you use HLE or LLE and appears to be unaffected by LLE on Thread. Shonumi recommended I try to find the revision that introduced the issue and I will do so (probably this weekend). I plan on starting with the builds that mention DSP in the description and work my way from there. If it matters, I will be starting with (and moving up from there): 797, 804, 807, 881, 887 I will be using stock settings and those recommended in the wiki where needed for maximum compatibility. I will also be using LLE for all my tests as it seems not to matter. I will report anything I find here. Hopefully we can track this down.

I would not go about testing each and everyone of those I would start with the latest and then do the earliest and compare and if the early one doesnt have it but the latest does then do the one in the middle and if that one has it do the early one if it doesn't have it do the later one so that you do not have to do every single one. You can narrow it down easier and with less time.

Actually, haddockd has the right idea. It's already narrowed down to the revisions/commits that changed something with emulated DSP. That's assuming, of course, that problem is caused by the emulated DSP and not some other component of Dolphin, but it's a pretty reasonable assumption to make imo. Fwiw haddockd, have a look at the commits on Dolphin's Google Code page to see if they actually do affect files relating to the DSP.
Just dropping by to say that I can confirm the "static" like audio, and yes it only occurs after extended playtimes (around 2 hours when I heard it in Skies of Arcadia), using 3.5-105. I'll try some other revisions to see if I can help out as well. 01-05-2013, 12:40 AM
Awesome! I plan on working with it this weekend to see if I can get a definitive answer. It takes awhile for it to happen so I cannot guarantee I will be successful this weekend but I am going to do my best

Update:
The static happens in 797 (which was the first i tried). I am going to try 796 (Merge branch 'Capcom-Music-Loop') next. BTW, I can only go back 8 pages on the DL website which means I cannot test further back than 749. Not sure if I am just doing it wrong or if there is some other way to test older revisions. I also want to clarify I am running LLE without LLE on thread, so I am unsure if HLE is affected. Update 2: 793 has the issue as well. I will try the furthest revision I can go back (749) tomorrow and report back.

I am going to continue testing but I get the sound issue in revision 759 but not 758. Can anyone else confirm this. It makes sense because that revision changed something in the SDL which can indeed mean different audio if I am correct.
Edit...not that revision. It happened after 3 hours of gameplay. See last post.
