This issue seems similar:
http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/issues/detail?id=2530

Also this issue appears to be identical as the one in this thread and is marked as fixed. Not sure that is correct.

The first link talks about the CPU going too fast and to try audio throttle. I will give this a test tonight with 3.5 and report back here.

UPDATE:
I only played for an hour or so due to time constraints and this needs more testing but I have a positive preliminary result.

I had to test with 3.0 because 3.5 doesn't have an "Audio Throttle" option.

In the regular settings, change the frame limit to "Off" and in the audio settings, check Audio Throttle. This eliminated all static audio for the limited amount of time I played.

Can anyone else give this a whirl and see if it helps them as well? I will also test but it will likely not be able to do so for several days.

Yes 3.5 does have an audio throttle setting just set the frame limiter to Audio it its the same thing as the audio throttle setting in the older revisions it was just moved around and renamed basically. Figured I would let you know that yeah the option is still there just renamed and moved.

Topken,

I disagree. Framelimit auto did not solve the static for me (once again preliminarily...more testing needs to be done). I turned that option to Off and let audio throttle take effect in the audio properties. This is what made a difference for me.

I only tried it because the thread here (http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/issues/detail?id=2530 ... a very old issue btw) said
"DSP LLE audio gets distorted when the simulated CPU runs too fast(audio chunks skipped) or too slow (silence inserted). If you are not near SPEED: 100%, this will happen."

I could see my PC possibly being "too fast" because it is fairly high end so I tried it and I got positive results. I am not saying this is why the static happens or even that this solves it. I am just saying that at a high level it made sense and as far as my limited testing is concerned, appears to help solve the issue I am experiencing.

Smile

Sorry for the confusion. Topken is correct. Thanks for setting me straight Smile

I will test this in 3.5 this weekend!

I am double posting because I want to post my results of my test and they may be significant. I wanted to make them easy to find and read.

Audio throttle does NOT fix the static/desynched audio issue for me unfortunately, so no dice. The static came back after 1.5 hours using version 3.5 Sad

Also not sure if it is helpful but here are a few other documented issues that seem to be similar:

that last issue seems to be spot on with what I experince after a while of playing where it has echoing effects for everything sort of like when you have both the surround sound speakers and the tv speakers putting out the same audio at the same time.

Just as a question, do any of you have any virtualization software like VMWare or VirtualBox installed?

Another update: I even get the static with LLE Interpreter (it runs at full speed)

Update 2: I also get it with JITIL Experimental recompiler.

I can make the popping static happen almost immediately in certain areas of Baten Kaitos. I could post the log of that here if dev thinks it may help. It isnt the out of synch issue but in my experience the 2 go hand in hand.
