I wasn't telling you Donatello Tongue, there are people who don't know the value of a sound card!!

I currently own a 216 GTX 260, but would absolutely love to own a 4890. Sadly, it has been my own personal experience that OpenGL based emulators run better on nvidia based cards. Sad

I have never used NVidia and ATI graphics cards of the same generation together to make a comparison of the OpenGL rendering speed, so I don't know about that... And I wouldn't prefer the 4890 if I were you, read some reviews about it to see that it's not actually worth its money. NVidia won the Spring '09 round of graphics cards...

To Nerve , The sound chipset used in radeon 4XXX is actually 7.1 and is not crap .I got one of these 4670 hooked up from my htpc to my hdtv and it is great !
Do you really think you can judge a video card because it has a built in soundcard ?!!
Nvidia wins nothing ! And ATI has given a few time the source of their plugins and technologies ,so Ati with Open GL should be the Best !

Hmmmm good Thread but a little weak in many points ...

No one can judge correct the Graphic Card Because Graphics its complicated
So..

anyway graphic card fixed for Graphics not for Sound hearing

ATI Chipsets and Nvidia Chipsets is realy different like AMD AND INTEL CPUs

nVidia have Friendly Software but weaker Hardware than ATI..ATI wins in Graphic System Processors wins in System Clock

But ATI lose in Software nVidia its too Friendly : )

I think ATI its a little better too Calculate Textures and Models

I will Choice nVidia anyway i like this Project and company made great Software Support for Games And Operating Systems
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X 4000MHz OC | RAM: G.Skill DDR4 Dual 16GB 3200MHz OC | GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 1710MHz
SSD: Corsair Force MP500 240GB NVMeM.2

While it is nice to get the audio through the same cable, I would not sacrifice the quality of the X-Fi for convenience. The fact that a sound chipset is 7.1 means nothing, almost all onboard motherboard sound chips are 7.1 now-a-days anyways, and 99% of them are crap.

Plug in an X-Fi, swap between the two, and test it for yourself, you'll be amazed at the difference in audio quality.

Aside from that, I would not want my video card wasting it's resources on audio processing. It's a video card, not an audio card. I want it to focus all it's energy into processing the video and nothing more.

To Unknownforce : to put money in a Ok sound card (150$)for pc , you need a good sound system , I am telling you that this card is great to use with a HDTV with only 1 cable , so that the sound comes of the TV. So Of course it is crap sound compare to ANY 5.1 system.
Im a sound designer btw and to play games and watch movies it's on my HDTV and sometimes with my headphones !And when I work, it is on a digidesign Mbox so I know what good sound is , and it is plugged on a dynaudio speakers system .
Each problem has its solution !

When it comes to Dolphin, any entry level video card should be sufficient since the cpu deals with the real heavy duty, that's why I think that it's really not that important if you use nVidia or Ati, regardless of the fact that a real Wii uses an Ati gpu.

Since Dolphin is a plugin-based emu, probably is better to wait for a plugin that is optimized for a particular gpu. Right now the developers are busy on the actual emulation part, that's why opengl is working way better than DirectX, it's just easier to implement.

I'm a happy Nvidia owner btw.
