Hello,
I'm updating my PC with a new GPU and am wondering which is better (in other words, more compatible) with Dolphin?
My current specs are - Intel i5 / 4GB RAM / 1TB HDD / Integrated Intel GPU
The two cards I'm deciding between are ATI Radeon HD 7750 1GB DDR5 and Nvidia GTX 650 2GB DDR5.
I understand obviously the GTX 650 will be a bit powerful since RAM is higher (as well as the price).
But what I'm concerned about more is "compatibility."
I'm new to Dolphin and unfamiliar w/ its background, if any of you know which is generally more compatible w/ the emulator and the games (if one really is more compatible than the other), could you give me some advice on it?
Currently the price gap difference between the two isn't huge due to a rebate on it.
Thank you in advance! Big Grin

If you're planning on using windows it shouldn't matter. If you're using linux go with the GTX 650.

I can't tell you how the GTX-650 compares to the Radeon, but I've been using the 650 for a month or two and I'm satisfied with it. It's still not performing anywhere near matching an overclocked i5-2500k, so a lot of potential performance is being wasted, but it can still do 4xIR in every gamecube game I've tried as well as in a few Wii games. The lowest resolution I've had to settle for is 2.5x (with 4x anti aliasing) in Mario Galaxy 2, but that's a special case since the CPU is pushed to the limit in that game. At minimum, Wii games should run comfortably at 3x.

The card can be overclocked to hell and back and in my experience it does make a significant difference in most Wii games (but not GC games). I can manage to run Metroid: Other M at 90fps, Resident Evil 4 at 60+fps, and Metroid Corruption at 108fps all while at 4xIR, which I feel is pretty damn good for a low end card.

If you're into modern PC games then the gtx-660 might be worth considering. It costs twice as much, but from what reviewers say it provides more than that in performance. For Dolphin, the 650 should be good enough unless you need 4XIR and anti aliasing in every single game.

650 sucks.
650 ti is much, much better.
Its not always the case that ti version is much better, but in this case its a huge difference.

650 ti is about equal to 460 which was midrange part

As for 7750 its about equal to 650...I would also suggest a step up which is 7770.

Both 650 ti and 7770 are much better from price/perfomance aspect.
