There are a lotta good shops for that (not only antiquarians Tongue) but I admit it's getting more and more difficult

Nintendo would suggest that you buy the same product yet again. From the GBC Super Mario Bros Deluxe, to the GBA port, or even on the Wii's Virtual Console, pick your poison.

I guess with Sony and Nintendo offering all of their old games as downloads, they'd probably see emulation as affecting their bottomline more so now than in the past.

Eh while music/film industry is taking heavy critic for their backwards digital business thinking, I admit Nintendo is far behind all of it... but I won't complain as long as they don't lobby for retarded Internet bills etc. And currently there's 2 gens of Nintendo consoles very easy to legally backup. So I'll save my complaints for the future.

They could just support the emulator people and sell the ROMs for cheap. That would give them way more money than what they do currently.

I'm going to tell you guys something that have helped me over the years achieving a near complete game collection.
Connections, it's all about connections!

I have a phone number to two guys, brothers in fact that can take home EVERYTHING from ANYWHERE when it comes to games and consoles.
If for example I want one of the rarest games ever made all I do is pick up the phone and order it, a week or two later I have secured it.

While a NES and Mario Bros. isn't that hard to get these days, I can understand that it varies from country to country and not everyone have connections.

US copyright allows you to make backups and there is no copy protection so no DMCA.
As for downloading them if you own the game some VC games are internet ROMs so if Nintendo doesn't mind doing it you should'nt either. Not to mention the VC itself goes against their old emulators are illegal stance but I guess that changed since they started selling PocketNES.

Ugh, the thread title makes this sound like some kind of official statement or sth. Marking as unofficial since 90% of what's said here is just guessing or spreading semi-factual information...
