Hello!

I'm probably buying this laptop, and I was wondering if the specs are enough to run dolphin smoothly. I understand some games are more demanding that others, so I don't really expect all games to run. But, in general, are these specs good enough to play most games or do you think I'll still have no luck with dolphin? Tongue

SVS131190X Standard

3rd gen Intel® Core™ i5-3210M processor (2.50GHz / 3.10GHz with Turbo Boost)
Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Intel® HD Graphics 4000 with Intel® Wireless Display technology
320GB (5400rpm) hard drive
4GB (4GB fixed onboard + 1 open slot) DDR3-1333Mhz

Thank you!

I would go for something with a discrete gpu.

What kind of games you plan on playing and what is your desired quality. Also if you're only gaming why would you want a laptop. If you're serious about gaming you sit on a desk. So be a man and build your own desktop computer. But you can also just stick to this laptop it'll be fine for lite games and be happy with your crappy 1xIR wii resolution on a LCD display that looks more ugly than your granddads TV. :3 if you're just gonna do a lot of work on your laptop and light gaming, this will be just fine. If you're serious about HD gaming and want constant 60FPS. Get a real computer.

Thanks for the quick replies!

I probably should have mentioned that I'll be using the laptop primarily for school and work. I just wanted to check if dolphin would work. If it means anything, I would probably be playing games like Smash Bros Melee or Super Mario Sunshine and I don't really care if its in HD.

Anyway, the general consensus seems to be "No."
Thanks again for getting back to me so quickly!

Please, dont get misleaded by my rough words. It'll be fine for Super Mario Sunshine, even when running it in HD (2x IR) as well as for Melee!

If you read the rules you'd know that when you're asking for feedback, you should state the important factors. In this topic the ''games you want to play'' were missing. All gamecube games should run fairly well I believe with my experiences with the HD 4000 (also in 1.5-2.5x IR).

Some Wii games should run full speed at 1x IR however don't expect to get full speed in more demanding games like for instance Super Mario Galaxy (2)/ Metroid series. These require insane amounts of CPU power.

Meh, If it were me, I would go for a much larger screen and extra expandability (upgrades) like this one. But hey at least it's a Clevo that you pointed out.

I don't think that's quite in the same price range, particularly with some of its upgrades added.
OS: Windows 10 64 bit Professional
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5900X

GPU: Radeon Vega 56
