Dolphin worked fine for me on my Pixel 2 XL but I recently lost the phone and am now on a pay as you go. It's a Motorola Moto e5 Play, running Android 8.0.0 Current Version: OCPS27.91-157-6 . When I try to search dolphin emulator on the playstore via the app, it doesn't show up but I can find it on the web browser play store. It says the device isn't compatible with the current version of dolphin. Are there any past stable or non stable versions that could theoretically be download to this device? Or am I just out of luck... Thanks for any help or confirmation.
Are older versions available?

Older versions can be found at https://dolphin-emu.org/download/list/master/1/. But if your device isn't compatible with the latest versions of Dolphin, there's no way it's going to be able to run any version of Dolphin at a reasonable speed. You can try to get it running if you want to, but don't expect much.

It's because Dolphin requires the 64-bit version of android. Your Moto E5 play uses the 32-bit version. Dolphin was once compatible with both 32 and 64-bit versions. However, 32-bit support was dropped in 2015. Don't bother with the dolphin builds that work with 32-bit android. They're buggy and games will be very slow. Your best bet is to enjoy the emulators(NDS, PS1, etc.) that work well on your phone, save and eventually get a dolphin compatible phone. There are lots of good mid-range devices out there now. So, you won't have to spend an arm and a leg.

Also, the performance gap between the Pixel 2 and Moto E5 Play is just abysmal. There's no way you're emulating anything past PS1 on it (it might even struggle with PS1 emulation depending of the game)...

I now know from a reply in this thread that my phone uses 32bit processing and that was the reason I couldn't install a 64bit version of dolphin. For reference: i tried the most recent APK as of November 10th 2019. To no prevail, I tried 5.0-0 from 2 years back and it also did not work. I then went all the way back to 4.0-0, which did indeed work, but alas, the phones processing unit is no match for Google's phones. Hopefully in the future, people with lower grade smart phones that have 64x processors can have great experiences when they find their old copies but decide to take a modern approach. 11-13-2019, 10:55 AM
Mid range and upper budget phones are now getting some very decent processors. The Snapdragon 632 in the Moto G7 Power is good enough to play some lightweight Gamecube games like SSB Melee and Rayman 3 with some tweaks to the settings. Another option for ya is get a used flagship off ebay. For example, LG G7s in very good condition routinely go for 200 or less on ebay.
