Are not all files created equally?

Hello,

I have found that sometimes I can only get .ciso files to work for certain games while only .nkit.iso files will work for others. Is there something in the configuration of Dolphin that I need to change in order for one or the other to work?

Also, some games I cannot seem to get to work at all, despite there not being any reported combability issues.

I have, for instance, tried both .ciso and .nkit.iso for Baten Kaitos: Origins, but when I try to play, I get stuck at a white screen and Dolphin essentially freezes.

I have had this happen with some other games, but but downloading the other file type, I have been able to solve some of these non-functioning issues.

I guess I am just confused as to why the game won't play. Could it be that the files themselves are bad and it is not a problem with Dolphin?
