As far as I know v3.5 is no longer supported but it's still listed alongside newer official builds. This may confuse users into thinking these builds are still supported when in actuality they aren't. My proposition is to list unsupported builds below supported builds with text making it clear if users download these builds they likely will forfeit support should they run into issues that are possibly fixed in the latest official and dev builds. Actually the view older versions link would be perfect for that, official builds that are no longer supported can be listed at the top just like on the main index.

Yeah, 3.0/3.5 really should require more digging to find. 4.0/4.0.1 should as well, but not until OS X/Ubuntu builds are made for 4.0.1/2.

So what builds are supported? Is it 4.0 and up, 4.0.1 and up or just 4.0.2?

So newer means any dev builds after 4.0.2 until the next official release? When the next official release is made then 4.0.2 and dev builds prior to the next official release (4.0.3?) will be unsupported, correct?

Probably it still will have forum support (4.0.2) after the new stable release. But I don´t really feel that sure about this... Tongue

Let me clear one semi-irrelevant thing up: 4.0.1 and 4.0.2 are not equivalent to any specific dev build – they're just 4.0 plus a few cherry-picked commits. All post-4.0 dev builds have commits that 4.0.1/2 skipped because they potentially break things or because they're just too major to include in a tiny point release. This is similar to how numerous larger projects operate.

Anyway, I say the dev builds stay as they are – nobody's gonna sort through hundreds of builds unless they have a real reason to. 4.0 and 4.0.1 have to stay until someone bothers to get OS X/Linux builds of 4.0.1/2. That just leaves 3.0 and 3.5, which can definitely be obscured more.

4.0.2 and newer.

No, 4.0 is still supported. It's nearly identical to 4.0.2 anyway. If you need to use single core use 4.0.1 or newer, if you have a username with non-ascii characters, use 4.0.2 or newer, otherwise there's really not any significant difference.

We should be indulgent with people using 3.5 version. This version was made before HLE rewrite. A lot of people are still using this. I guess I don't need to explain why

No we shouldn't. If they want to use a version specifically because it's buggy, too bad for them when there are bugs.
