That the FPS goes down when talking with NPCs is intended. It is the same for the 30 FPS code for Majora's Mask and should be known for a while. It is part of the fix to solve softblocks and other major issues when not in control of Link, especially during cutscenes. That the FPS reverts back to 20 when talking is to be expected, since Link is not in control actually (except in a few cases). I am not even sure that might be fixed.
It is not a great idea to remove the whole fix, as stated, it solves potential softblocks from cutscenes. For example, you might not be able to leave a room in a dungeon (doors are often opened by a cutscene after defeating an encounter of monsters).
Sadly, I can not confirm it for you. I did not encounter any flickering issues.
Are you sure that:
- Other AR / Gecko codes are disabled.
- The Widescreen Hack within the Graphics menu is disabled.
- You use darkludx's latest revision of the 16:9 Widescreen code. Use the AR version instead of the Gecko version.
- You used the correct widescreen code for the correct game and region. Do not use the widescreen code for Ocarina of Time's Normal Quest if you are running Master Quest instead for example.
- You don't have the codes activated for the Zelda game you do not run at the moment.
- The Aspect Ratio within the Graphics menu is set to either Force 16:9 or Stretch to Window.
- Activate Cheats is enabled in the main Config menu.
- You use the default settings, and the specific settings recommend for your game according to the game's .ini file.
- You use the latest Development build of Dolphin rather than the Stable 5.0 build or an older Development build.
- The Free Cam is disabled in the Graphics menu.
- Checked if the issue persists on a different backend (Vulkan, OpenGL or DirectX 11).
- Your game disc's MD5 Checksum hash is correct. Thus, a properly dumped disc.
