Thank you for your in-depth testing in this Code, Admentus. I agree with you that, for now, it is better to keep using the old Code. I will continue with my research to improve this Code.
I already fixed the broken part that not allowed you to switch between 20/30 FPS. In fact, that was not broken, it is only that you needed to press the A Button and D-Pad Down at the same time At first I tried to design this Code only as Action Replay or just as Gecko Code, but it was not possible to make it work because this is a Code that modifies itself and threw me an error in the Code Handler. For this reason I had to design it as a hybrid Code in two parts, one part as Gecko Code and the other one as AR Code. 03-05-2017, 02:53 PM
I would do at least partial ASM hacks

Great work on the codes! Am I the only one having problems charging my sword when in 30 fps, it just doesn't work. I don't see that mentioned anywhere?

Not being able to charge the sword at 30 FPS is a known issue, so you are not the only one having issues with it. Either revert back to 20 FPS (the 30 FPS code has a toggle function during gameplay) or hope for the best and that it can be resolved someday. The quick spin (rotating the control stick and pressing B quickly) still works, through the timing is a little bit more strict at 30 FPS. Luckily, Ocarina of Time does not require to use the Spin Attack in order to achieve a 100% completion. (03-07-2017, 03:32 AM)e2zippo Wrote: Great work on the codes! Please add the Part 1 of the Code as Gecko Code and the Part 2 of the Code as AR Code. Press D-Pad Up to switch between 20 and 30 FPS.
Great work darkludx! I can confirm the Spin Attack through charging the B button now works. The charging seems to go faster but I guess since it is 50% faster at 30 FPS. The hookshot / longshot issue also seems to be resolved. And the D-Pad Up button does now correctly toggle between 20 FPS and 30 FPS mode.
So, this is another issue we can cross of the bugs list for 30 FPS. So the issues that now remain (it might still be missing a few of the prominent ones): Throwing distance for bombs / objects being too short and low The frogs minigame softblocks Jumping gravity for enemies (such as the Lizalfos in Dodongo's Cavern and Armos not bouncing towards Link when activated) Business Scrub getting stuck in a animation loop when defeated (method of hitting does not mattter) Most bosses are too fast in their patterns. For example Barrinade attacks endlessly without pause, but is still doable. Some bosses are simply not doable in 30 FPS. The cutscene for defeating Volvagia goes too fast and softblocks the game. Clock timers are running too fast. Lightning torches goes out too fast. Deku sticks burns up too fast (at least you can use the D-Pad down to instantly ignite a Deku Stick without the need for a lit torch) Hookshot / Longshot range Boomerang range Charging spin attack Day / Night cycle (only 3 sec difference) Jumping distance for Link Crawling through holes (reverts back to 20 FPS) Jumping distances for Link while Z-targetting (reverts back to 20 FPS) However the remaining issues can be worked around by reverting back to 20 FPS prior to the issue. 03-29-2017, 08:53 PM
Hi, I love the 30fps code. It's still amazing to me that small changes in those letters and numbers have somehow fixed the spin attack. However, I am having trouble getting the Gecko code to work. As soon as I leave the ini file, Dolphin deletes the Gecko code. I have added the $ for the title as well. Any advice? Thanks! Great work!

It is a regression with the latest development builds, since 5.0-3050. Either use the Dolphin Development Build 5.0-3048 (the last revision before the change that broke saving Gecko codes), the Dolphin Stable Build 5.0 or wait for a fix. The issue is already reported at https://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/10166. 03-30-2017, 08:00 AM

Just downloaded r3048 will report back. |
