I suspect Amon1995 may be using the Master Quest disc code with his Collector's Edition game, or the opposite. Or maybe the wrong region as I did first :p.

So, Amon1995: check the first post carefully and use the codes of your corresponding game.

If you can see Epona and Link all the time, then the AR Code Extended Draw Distance is working right. The kids in Kokiri Forest aren't affected by this Code, then you will see them appear in front of you.

Oh right, it must be working then, I can see Link and Epona at the start. I thought it would affect the Kokiri Forest too.

Kokiri children disappearing after a short distance is an intended feature of them :p. Unlike the other things. Magical and immortal forest kids that become invisible. Furthermore, they disappear and appear with a smooth transition.

Their fairies, however, can be seen from very far away now.

This may be a bit off topic but I've noticed I can't do the spin attack when holding B? Is this available later on in the game?
My controls and everything are set up correctly in Dolphin's settings, when I hold B, the B icon stays red in the config.

I'm pretty sure when I played it on N64 you could do the spin attack straight away as child link, or am I mistaken? Could someone confirm this?

I think you need to get that from one of the fairy fountains. There is however also a different type of spin attack that you get when rotating the stick quickly and then pressing B, which you don't need to unlock in the same way.

You have to get the Hylian Shield and the bomb bag from the second dungeon. When you can access the Goron City you can take the path leading up the top of the mountain.
The bombs are required to clear that path of large boulders, or atleast that is how I remember it. The Hylian Shield is not required, but you most likely die from the falling rocks on your way to the top of the mountain without it.

When you climbed the mountain all the way to the top you can access the fairy mountain there. Don't go inside the vulcano, the fairy entrance is beside the entrance of the vulcano. The annoying owl will wait for you there.
Within the fairy mountain you gain the small magic meter (the large magic meter is later as adult link). As soon you get magic, you can use the blue and red spinning attack. These spinning attacks require magic.
Except when doing the fast spin attack by rotating the control stick and pressing B, althrough you still need the small magic meter. Using a non-charged spinning attack is available as soon you get the sword.

It depends which type of spinning attack you are unavailable to preform. If you lack the charged spinning attack then you need the magic meter. Otherwise there might be an issue with your controller setup.

As soon you have magic the fast spin attack by rotating the controller stick and by pressing B becomes magic and will glow.
The charging order is: no glow -> blue -> red (the no glow phase costs no magic). The fast spin attack will be the blue phase, I believe only a half second or so is needed to charge to the blue phase.
Majora's mask is an entirely different story, some changes were made there regarding spin attacks.

Ah, so the fast spin attack still requires you to have the magic meter? Thanks for the correction.

In the N64 version you could do a charged non-magic spin attack by holding B (you could do this as soon as you get the Kokiri Sword at the start), could this have been removed from the GC version?

Check https://tcrf.net/The_Legend_of_Zelda:_Ocarina_of_Time/Program_Revision_Differences#GameCube_Version for the changes of each Ocarina of Time version.
It is possible on the N64 itself as you say. Master Quest and Normal Quest for the gamecube (also the collector's edition version) are V1.3 of Ocarina of Time. The N64 has V1.0, V1.1 and V1.2 for NTSC-U.

EDIT 1:
I found the cause for not being able to hold B to charge a spin attack. Disable the 30 FPS code. The Fast Spin attack works with the 30 FPS code through.
So to be clear, you can charge a spin attack or do a fast spin attack without magic, but it will be non-magical. As soon you have magic it can be charged to the blue and red phase. The fast spin attack will be blue. For Majora's Mask that would be red instead with the fairy from first temple.

EDIT 2:
A temporary fix for the 30 FPS would be to revert to 20 FPS when pressing / holding the B button. The code part below is for Master Quest, D43E01, NTSC-U.
0A132F38 00000200 // When holding B
02C8E800 00000003 // Change FPS to 20

The whole code thus:
0ABB71E0 0000000A
02BB71E0 00000007
02C8E800 00000002
0A132F38 00000200
02C8E800 00000003
0A132F38 00000008
02C8E800 00000003
0ACA23DE 00002708
02C8E800 00000003
0ACA23DE 00002900
02CA229C 0000BF34
0ACA23DE 00002950
02CA229C 0000BF34
0ACA23DE 00002988
02CA229C 0000BF34
0ACA23DE 000029D0
02CA229C 0000BF34
0ACA23DE 00003148
02CA229C 0000BF34
0ACA2A54 0000000A
02C8E800 00000003

I guess the following code part is used with the normal Ocarina of Time (not Master Quest), D43E01, NTSC-U.
0A132F38 00000200
02C8E840 00000003

Ocarina of Time for the Collector's edition, PZLE01, NTSC-U.
0A134C58 00000200
02C8D2C0 00000003

It does work, but you notice the switch from 30 FPS to 20 FPS each time you press or hold the B button. Atleast, it allows to charge the spin attack again.

Thanks, that code works fine!

Also another problem I've noticed is that when you defeat a Deku Business Scrub, you can't talk to them unless the 30 FPS code is switched off. Is there any fix for this?
