Is there no way of aligning every HUD element to the edges of the screen? I'm playing Ocarina Of Time (Master Quest disc) and the 16:9 code provided on GitHub only moves the buttons to the right, but hearts and rupees keep their position. The alternate code stretches the entire HUD, which is undesirable.

Use the Advanced Widescreen patch found in the Patcher64+ Tool.

No.
Patcher64+ Tool only works with the N64 ROM or the Virtual Console WAD. 05-15-2023, 12:03 AM
Alright, I am using the Virtual Console version of Ocarina Of Time on Dolphin, and patching it through Patcher64, but I still can't get the widescreen to work properly. If I apply the "16:9 Widescreen (Simplified)" option and force 16:9 aspect ratio on Dolphin, HUD and interface elements are still getting stretched. If I apply the Widescreen patch, I get awful results (https://i.imgur.com/ZsDasdb.png). And anyway, I can't apply both patches to the same ROM, apparently. What am I doing wrong?

If you're referring to the Advanced Widescreen patch, you can't apply it to the Wii VC WAD because it won't work. That's N64 ROM only.

I don't know about "Advanced Widescreen", I just saw those two options: "16:9 Widescreen (Simplified)", as part of the Additional Options & Redux, and the "Widescreen" patch in the drop down menu. I'm assuming it's either the latter, or I can't see it since I'm using a WAD. So, anyway, neither the Game Cube nor the VC versions have proper widescreen support, and patching the N64 ROM is the only way to get a fully functional widescreen, right? Will I be able to apply both the Additional Options & Redux patches and the Advanced Widescreen to the same ROM? Because I couldn't with the WAD. And would it work if I patch the ROM and inject it into a WAD? I really like Dolphin. Thanks for your support. 05-17-2023, 02:35 AM

The Wii VC lacks the proper framebuffer functions as a regular Nintendo 64 emulator does, and the Advanced Widescreen patch need these framebuffer functions to work properly to function. The Advanced Widescreen patch is automatically hidden when in Wii VC mode, because since it doesn't work it's pointless to show it in the interface in Wii VC mode. |
