Hi,

I have been having these crashes from day one.
They seem to appear randomly, sometimes I will not see any for a few hours, sometimes twice in 10 minutes.
I havn't got those in some games (Super Mario Galaxy, Fire Emblem : Path of Radiance, Just Dance 4, Rhythm Heaven,...) but in some others they are quite frequent.

I am using 4.0-4247 and this are my specs :

Operating System: Windows 8.1 x64
Processor/CPU: Intel i5 3570K OC 3.6GHz
Video Card/GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760
Memory/RAM: Kingston Hyper X PnP - 8GB Kit* (2x4GB) - DDR3 1866MHz CL11 DIMM

This is the error message I keep getting :

This is what I have tried :

Disabling all graphic enhancement
Disabling dual core
Using Open GL or DirectX
All my graphic cards drivers are up to date
Windows is up to date

If you have any lead to help me I would be gratefull.

Thanks Smile

Listing what games you are crashing on would be very useful.

I don't know why I didnt ^^

Here is the list so far :

Trauma Center New Blood
Windwaker
Tatsunoko Vs Capcom
Mario Kart Wii

I think I have crashed on other games but as I am not 100% which ones, I will update this list if I get more crashes.
I have frequent crashed with the 4 listed above.

Edit : Come to think of it, even though I stated that I didn't, I think I had a crash once with Mario galaxy (with 4 or 5 hours of played time). Much less than with the other games listed above.

Just a stylistic issue, but change your description of your windows from x86 to x64 to prevent any confusion.

What sound backend are you using? Trying switching to another sound backend and see if it still crashes, because this reminds me of an older issue with Windows 8.1 crashing.
Also, what is your sound card? (Related to the above issue)

Also, go grab the latest dev build, as it has some fixes that may be related to this issue.

Thank you for your quick answer.
I haved changed my windows description, thanks for pointing that out.

I am not sure what you mean by Sound Backend as English is not my first language but here is a screenshot of my audio setting in Dolphin.

I was using Xaudio2 but I have just changed to OpenAL and I'm going to make some tests.

As for my sound card I have an Asus Xonar DGX that is pluged-in and installed but I was having issues with it so I'm just pluging my speakers into my mobo : ASUS P8Z77-V LK.
Could that cause the issue ? Should I unplug / unistall my Xonar sound card as I am not using it ?

Before changing sound settings I downloaded latest dolphin version and I had a crash playing Tastunoko vs Capcom

I will make more tests using OpenAL and post here again.

Yeah, do testing with OpenAL, as that is what I was talking about.

Just as I thought. Your integrated sound card in your motherboard is a Realtek sound card. Using Realtek hardware with Xaudio2 was a bug that was supposedly fixed over the summer, as seen in our bug report of this: https://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/issues/detail?id=7413

Using this page: http://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/P8Z77V_LK/HelpDesk_Download/ downlaod and install the latest BIOS and audio driver. That sound get you started to eliminating the problem if using OpenAL doesn't work.

I had a crash on Mario Kart Wii after updating my Audio Driver from the Asus Website and using OpenAL.
And another on Mario Galaxy with updated Audio Driver and XAudio2.

I'm going to try to flash my mobo and make some more tests.

I have updated my mobo drivers and I still have these crashes with XAudio2.
I havn't tried yet with OpenAl post update but I guess it won't change much, I'll give it a try though.

Here is the dump of my latest crash on Mario Kart Wii :
