I don't know how far back this was added, but it's annoying right now because I have the Wiimote A and B buttons bound to left click and right click on the mouse, but navigating Dolphin's menu causes input in-game. Can I disable this behavior? I know there's background input for outside of Dolphin, but I prefer to only have control when the game window is in focus, not Dolphin in general.

You could hit the pause emulation button.

Just disable Background Input? It's a global option, so if you disable it for one thing it will be disabled in the others. An easy place is the hotkeys menu!

Pausing each time is kind of clunky, and makes debugging far more difficult than it used to be.
The Background Input option is regarding allowing input when the emulator isn't in focus. My concern is having input register when the emulation window isn't in focus, but the focus is in another window in Dolphin. Basically, I want a way to go back to the old way of things where I can have game input only register when the emulation window is in focus and not anywhere else.

Just turn off background input! And it will behave exactly as it used to.

No. Just like Koestu says, pressing buttons while any Dolphin window is in focus (not just the game window) will count as input to the game, even when Background Input is off. (I'm not actually sure whether it was like this in the past, though.)

It wasn't always like this, I believe this was done to fix something else.
