I have tried every setting under the board, it is a well known issue by now with many posts about it but no fixes, sadly dolphin games in steam deck game mode, have horrible frame pacing issues not fps issues but frame pacing.

I would say every minute you get a stutter in the game but not a single frame drop at least for the games I am playing.

This is due to the frame pacing, Meanwhile dolphin in Desktop mode is the only way to remove the frame pacing issues, but that kinda takes the convinces out of emulating classic games on the steam deck.

This is a well known issue something to do with a forced v sync option in game mode that you can not disable or something else, power tools, any setting in dolphin or any power setting on the steam deck does not fix the issue, I have searched every post online I can find on the issue.

Seems like the only fix could be from the devs themselves, by the way using dolphin from the discovery store.

Yea we know, our frame pacing varies from not great to very bad, depending on the game. Someone is working to improve it though!

Psst, don't tell anyone outside of the forum but here's what I'm referring to. https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/pull/11367

If you can compile for linux you should try this on your deck. Let the author know how it goes by commenting in the PR!

Thank you so glad to hear you are working on this issue! Smile

I notice the Issue with Animal crossing GameCube the most compared to other GC games, But i also play Animal crossing GameCube the most which is why it is so annoying.
