Been wondering if it's at all possible to play a simple game like Mega Man 9 or 10 on a phone that's not too crazy expensive. I had set my eyes on a Samsung Galaxy A20 and a Redmi 9T, since their cost is just within the amount I'm willing to pay for a phone, at least where I live. But if you have any other suggestions, please do share.
Any phones below $200 capable of running light games?

I don't imagine that would be a difficult task. However, I'm not very knowledgeable in this scenario.

Can you at least confirm if Dolphin v5.xxx can be installed in either one of these devices? As in, do they meet all the requirements needed to install and run games (regardless of speed)?

A redmi 9T should be able to run light games, as it does have a couple of large ARM cores that can be reasonably sustained. 12-18-2021, 06:53 AM
I was told that a Redmi 9 was better than a 9T, is it true? I found it for 110$. Other options, though much less likely for me to buy (not because of money), are the Xiaomi Pocophone F1, and a Poco (not sure which one specifically, but it's used, the person selling it has yet to respond to give me the specifics).
But it's at least good to know that a 9T is able to run light games. Gonna keep that in mind. 12-18-2021, 08:23 AM
If you can find the Pocophone F1 in your price range, that would be the one to go with. It will play a good number of light to medium weight GameCube and Wii games quite well.

Nevermind, I could afford to buy a more expensive phone, so I went with the Poco F3. I could have gone with the X3 Pro or just the X3 vanilla, but I wanted to be 100% safe. This phone will most certainly be able to run those two games, right?

I'd be extremely surprised if a phone released in this year would be unable to run a 2D game like Mega Man (I have very little experience with cheap phones however).

A Snapdragon 870 should be able to run anything GameCube/Wii you throw at it, as long as you don't go beyond native resolution and don't use enhancements. You may even find that some lighter games even run with double resolution or some post-processing. |
