Yeah MM9-10 both run flawlessly. But I forgot one important thing, the controller. Now, I don't suppose you could use a PS3 controller with Dolphin, right? Or even with the phone as is, without rooting.
Any phones below $200 capable of running light games?

PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X controllers work flawlessly out of the box. Older controllers may or may not work, depending on phone, root status, etc, but I wouldn't bet on it 12-22-2021, 11:19 PM
Oh, they do? How do they work, wired, wireless, or both? Do I need to buy the respective console to set anything up?

I normally use Bluetooth with both my PS4 and Xbox One controllers, and there are clips available online for both that allow you to hold your phone in place above them. You just need to pair them with your phone (the exact procedure varies between controllers) and map the buttons to your taste in Dolphin. Small note: early Xbox One controllers may not work over Bluetooth. Mine's an Xbox One S controller and it has never given me any trouble. And no, you don't need the respective console at all. I don't have an Xbox, I initially bought the controller to have an easier time with XInput games on PC 12-22-2021, 11:36 PM

Hi there,i have (kind of) moved on from here, here's a link with all of my socials:

Do you play any 2D side-scroller games with your Xbox controller? I think I heard people saying that said controller is a tad uncomfortable to play 2D platformers.
Also, when you say early Xbox One controllers, you mean there's more than one variant, or just Xbox One controllers in general? If it's the former, how can I tell whether they're the latest variant or not? I just did a quick Google search, and I noticed somebody claiming that he was experiencing input lag with a PS4 controller. Any comments on this? 12-22-2021, 11:59 PM

I know that the variant originally included with the Xbox One S and later is safe (as in, it works fine). As for playing 2D platformers with it (I play Megaman X DiVE), I have no trouble doing so. The most commonly cited concern is the D-Pad position, since PlayStation players won't be used to it. However, it's the same as the GameCube controller (and the D-Pad is larger than the GameCube's), so you shouldn't have any problem with games originally designed for the GameCube controller (other than the ABXY buttons' relative positions, of course, since you'll either have to map them differently and risk being confused by hitting X when the screen says B, for example, or map them by letter and have to retrain your muscle memory if you're used to the GameCube or Wii Classic controller). As for PS4 controller input lag: I find that it varies by phone. I had occasional stutters on my old LG G7, but I haven't experienced that on my current OnePlus 9 Pro as of yet. 12-23-2021, 12:19 AM
I see. Looks like Xbox One controllers are more expensive than PS4 ones in my local store, though there's also that thing about input lag. You said it varies by phone, but did you try using a different controller to see if you would get different results? My main concern is that the person who asked for help regarding input lag also had a Poco F3.

My main concern is that the person who asked for help regarding input lag also had a Poco F3. I did. On my LG G7, both the Xbox One S controller (over Bluetooth) and a wired licensed third-party Nintendo Switch controller (HORI) worked just fine, while the PS4 controller behaved erratically. On my OnePlus 9 Pro, all three work fine. The wired controller sometimes refuses to work when I use a multi-port adapter to get HDMI out and USB at the same time, so I seldom use it. Taking that last point into account, the only one that's worked consistently across phones for me is the Xbox One S controller over Bluetooth. I haven't used any "made for Android" controllers, though, so I assume most of those will work just fine too. 12-23-2021, 01:19 AM
Then it seems the Xbox One S or an Android controller would be my best bets (but I'd still have to do some research for the variant you were talking about if I were to go with that option). That said, there seems to be some people talking about controller issues on Xiaomi phones, but I can't seem to open Reddit to look into it. The thread is called:
