Well I've done some more research and it appears 3DRipperDX worked with Dolphin 1.02 and 1.03. The problem is, 1.02 doesn't have memory card support which I need to get past an intro cutscene that crashes the game, and 1.03 won't boot the game at all. I'd like to find a slightly newer build than 1.03 but it seems that would be SVN 1293, which I can't seem to find anywhere. Can anyone help?

I read a lot about dolphin not working with 3dripper, but i dont see the problem, just use gl render, play the game to the scene you want to rip, save state, quit, change options to DirectX render, launch 3dripperdx, launch game, load state, rip and enjoy .
when i do that way, after launching game in dx mode, game runs about 0.4 fps, but for ripping purposes, thats not a problem. That works for me with SVN3661, so far only tested GC games and it works, and not only rips geometry, also textures. only checked .obj in blender and textures works perfectly, dont know if same happends with .3ds file. PS. sorry if my english is not good enought Update: Also tested with Wii zelda and and rips works as well. Happy Rippings :p 07-30-2009, 12:24 AM
3d ripper DX works in older dolphin revisions
the one i use is 2276 thanks gato, i think you have a nice solution there is also another ripping program named 3d via printscreen rips from dx8,9 and open gl this isnt working on newer revisions too but if you have problems with dx might be helpful there is also a plugin to import the 3dxml to max hope i helped a little (p.s never run ogle and any 3d design app like max, maya etc together it causes a glitch to them) 01-19-2010, 09:26 PM

3DRipperDX does work with dolphin (i doubt it depends on the version of dolphin)
you need to make the graphics plugin DX otherwise it doesnt work i was able to take an arwing from starfox assault, the only problem was the LOW framerate from using DX 01-21-2010, 02:33 AM
works fine here with 32bit.
With the 64bit version it can't create a process. 02-14-2010, 07:03 AM

I first used 3D ripper DX on my 32bit win7 home system with a simple star wars game: it created an .obj file, I just then needed to run it through a 'cleaning' program I made to fix any errors(faces saying 2 of their 3 points have the same XYZ coordinates as each other) before Maya would accept it. I could not use it on Dolphin with that computer because the graphics card didn't support openGL. My notebook(winVista x64) did and about 3 days ago, I finally updated my Direct X to run the 3D Ripper. I find that they don't seem to work together unless you work with some costume settings in Dolphin: -> In the config icon > Plug-ins tab > make sure Dolphin Direct3D9 is selected > Click the 'config...' button > in 'Graphics Card:' region be sure 'Render to main window' is checked. -> DirectX configuration: Capture key: f1, Wire-frame key: f2, Texture key: f3 -> After successfully running Dolphin through 3DRipperDX, The 'Ready To Capture' should display(if all goes well) To capture: You basically have to override Dolphin's key listener to allow the 3DRipperDX key-listeners to work. -> press f2 and then immediately f1 right after -> you can do the same process with the others (f2 and f3) ~ f1+f2 or f3+f2 = f2 operation ~ f1+f3 or f2+f3 = f3 operation 01-23-2011, 10:27 PM

It looks like you're just supposed to select the Dolphin exe by clicking the folder icon to the right... the path selected is to an example file, it doesn't seem that you are missing anything
