Hi! Is there any way I could speed up Dolphin, because right now the FPS in some games is so slow that it is almost unplayable. Good examples are games like Excite Truck (5 FPS) and Super Mario Galaxy 1/2 (22 FPS).

I'm using Dolphin 2.0 (though using other versions does not affect in any way).
Windows XP SP3
AMD Phenom II X4 B50 @ 3410 MHz
Ati Radeon HD 5770

Config: http://www.dolphin-emu.org/performance.html
Fastest build : 5186 64bit SSE3(If your windows is only 32bit then get 32 bit version) http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/thread-6629.html
That should give you above 30FPS in SMG
Recommend :Windows 7 64bit
Your PC should run faster than mine because I can get 30-40 FPS in SMG 2,20-40 FPS in SMG1

you should be able to play many games fullspeed. (see my computer)

but you need windows xp/7 x64.

you have to use the direct 3d plugin.

Yup, I'm using the Direct3D plugin, and those recommended settings, and still getting very bad framerates most of the time... But, my OS is 32bit. Is the speedup really that big when using 64bit? Because when I think of upgrading my OS, it's going to cost pretty much so, is it worth it?

Your rig is beyond 'acceptable' even on 32-bit XP, it should run all games 100% no questions asked..

Very likely your problem is just a misconfigured build.

-Don't copy efb to RAM (as is by default.. Copy it to texture)
-Enable scaled EFB copy
-Disable audio throttle
-Turn framelimiter off
-Disable safe texture cache
-Use D3D9 plugin and not the default OpenGL

with both turned off most games will be unplayable (too fast) in some scenes.

mario galaxy is a tlb-hack-game... and tlb-hack-games are really slow on 32bit.
with xp x64 or win7 x64 he should have fullspeed on latest builds.

But native display resolution looks much nicer.
