Hi,

I know this must be painful but here's another thread on this subject.

I bought a wiimote from DX and it's not working (I'm gonna trademark this) in Dolphin games.
It works flawlessly I guess in wmgui, I get the motion detectors and the IR sensor readings.
It pairs correctly in Dolphin but when I launch a game, I can't get anything to work.

I tried revisions 7258, 7271, 7687, 7690, 7695 and version 3.0 .
I tried to disable the Wiimote speaker, no change.
I tried two BT dongles, it made no difference.

I'm on Ubuntu 11.04 64bits.

Is there a way to see if Dolphin gets the same readings than wmgui ?
Does anyone have an idea on how to solve this ?
Should I open a bug issue for this ?

Thanks for your time.

Is it a genuine Nintendo controller? If not, then it may not work, i bought a 3rd party Wii controller and it didn't work, went out today got a Nintendo one and it worked fine.

I just tried the remote on a Windows computer with Dolphin r7695 and it works perfectly. It's recognized as a genuine Nintendo Wiimote with Nunchuk.

So the problem is software and not hardware Smile

How will you know that for sure?

I mean, why not at least try with real wiimote and see if it's not working too?

Same hardware, different software, working. Means no hardware problem.

I don't have a real wiimote to try, and since it's work... wait, I'm repeating myself.

Didn't tried real, genuine, no 1:1 clone fake, original wiimote and you're so SO sure that it wasn't hardware problem right?

Third party or "clone fake" wiimotes may have compatibility issues that software or hardware may not recognized it correctly... For example, the connection worked perfectly but bluetooth is unable to receive signals from clone fake's buttons

Sorry for my bad grammar and I can't really help you much since I don't use Ubuntu Sad

Wiiremote only works for Windows.

Some people have luck and it does work on other OS.

I tried with 3 different Macs and a Windows.

None of the Macs worked, but it worked on Windows.

Tested 3 wiiremotes. 2 Genuines and a fake one.

Maybe my experience may help, i'm using Dolphin R7723 (latest release at the moment) on iMac with Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion, latest Mac OS). I've had a lot of problems configuring the wiimote (original one). With previous versions of dolphin and macos it worked fine.
On Lion and with this version i've had some problems configuring the Wiimote and a small yet effective trick is needed. Don't know if it may work on Windows too, on Mac Os it works fine, tried many times and always works.

If you have already installed the wiimote on your imac and it's showing up between your bluetooth perpherals you may jump the following part and just read section 2:

1. Setup Wiimote on Mac OS.
Mac OS easily recognizes the Wiimote, you just have to enable bluetooth, to do that just click on the Bluetooth logo on top-right bar of your desktop and enable it; then open the Bluetooth Panel in System preferences, click on "+" button in the panel and then keep pressed buttons "1" and "2" on your Wiimote, leds on the wiimote will start blinking and after a few seconds the Wiimote should show up as Nintendo-RVL-CNT-01, after that click Continue. Now the Wiimote is correctly installed on Mac OS, the leds on the wiimote will keep blinking. To make sure the wiimote is installed you may just check under the bluetooth icon you may find on the top-right bar of your desktop, you'll find the Wiimote under "Devices" named as Nintendo-RVL-CNT-01.

2. Make sure Dolphin recognizes your Wiimote.
Run Dolphin, enable Wiimote 1 from menu Tools -> Connect Wiimote 1
Now click on the Wiimote icon in Dolphin, make sure Wiimote 1 is setup as Real Wiimote.
Usually you would just need to press Refresh or do it while pressing 1 and 2 buttons and the Wiimote would connect to Dolphin, but that's not our case; for some reason Dolphin is unable to recognize the wiimote if it's connected to the mac, so we first need to disconnect it. To do that just do the following: click the Bluetoth icon on top-right bar, find Nintendo-RVL-CNT-01 and click Disconnect. The leds on your wiimote should stop blinking and turn off. Now get back to Dolphin Wiimote Configuration and press Refresh while at the same time you keep buttons 1 and 2 pressed on your wiimote. After a few moments the wiimote should be recognized, give you a vibration feedback and turn on a led, Dolphin should tell you one wiimote is connected. That's all.

I can't try with multiple wiimotes since i just have one here but guess it could work as well.
Hope this may help you solve the problem, i've seen many users are experiencing troubles configuring wiimotes with dolphin.
