I play the Metroid Prime games every year and even though there have been a few Metroid Prime HD projects, I've never really been satisfied with them.
Metroid Prime is difficult to upscale due to the realistic style, either the textures are too soft or have too many artifacts.
This package was created with my ESRGAN model HDCube as quality control, it is specially designed for Gamecube and Wii textures.

requires DX11 compatibility GPU

The downloads are divided into individual games and are automatically recognized, no matter which version.
For example, Metroid Prime 1 HD has all the textures for the Gamecube and Trilogy versions.

Here in comparison to the HD Texture Pack from Malkierian.

Instalation:

  1. Extract the texture package to the "Load textures" directory of Dolphin.
    Windows: %UserName%\Documents\Dolphin Emulator\Load\Textures
Linux: ~/.local/share/dolphin-emu/Load/Textures or ~/.dolphin-emu/Load/Textures depending on your system
    MacOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Dolphin/Load/Textures
  2. Enter Graphics > Advanced tab > Check Load Custom Textures.
  3. Start your game.

Optional
Universal Dynamic Input is a custom button package, it swaps the keys in the game with the one you actually use.

compatibility with the gamecube versions?

Edit: my bad, I didn't read the post properly.

Does the universal dynamic input package work with the gamecube version?

And another final question. This is an idea i've had recently. Have you thought about upscaling, or at the very least cropping the FMV's into 16:9 widescreen? Most of the Prime 1 FMV's, like the main menu, are 16:9 with black bars. I'd like to think most people playing Prime on dolphin will be playing it in widescreen, and it would be nice to see the main menu and whatnot, fill the entire screen

I believe that there is currently no possibility to replace the FMV's in Dolphin.

It's possible to replace the FMV's, because I've done it myself. The problem I had (because of my none existent knowledge of the thp format used) is that they seemed to play slower than normal, and they must be 640x480 otherwise they just appear blank ingame. I gave up because I got sick of trying to find working tools that would properly convert between formats

I guess you have replaced the thp file in the rom?
I meant load as external file like the textures, the individual frames are also dumped but it is difficult to do anything with them.
If there is a good way, I would at least try it.

Yeah, I like to run roms (isos) that I use mods with, unpacked, so I can modify files that are not usually modifiable in the conventional sense. ie. using the load/textures method.
It's very possible to replace the thp video files, using the same method that you use to create custom trailers for Wii games etc, but like I say, my limited knowledge on the subject has no yielded good results.  I still think that there is good potential for better FMV's to give Prime more of that proper "PC Port" feel.

Very interesting, I think this could also be done with Dolphins Riivolution feature.
640x480 is not enough in my opinion. Sad
but upscaling should not be a problem since it is only a jpeg format.

Yeah, 640x480 is definitely not enough.  I tried cropping and ai upscaling the videos to 2560x1440, and while as you can imagine, they looked great, but they just wouldn't work when running the game.  So I gave up since it looked to be well above my level of knowledge  Big Grin

The Gamecube, as far as I know, can only do 720×480, so I'm not surprised.
By the way, the thp format can do 30 and 60 fps, that will be the reason why it was slower for you.

The original videos are only 30fps though right?  The videos I created were also 30fps

Edit: yeah, I have no idea how these videos are encoded. I just tried again, rendering it at 60fps, and it's playing even slower than before
