Available for Pre-order atm :
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117374&cm_re=G3258-_-19-117-374-_-Product
It's based on Haswell architecture . Basically a lower clock / weaker integrated GPU - i3 without Hyperthreading (i3 with HT : 2 cores 4 threads , Pentium no HT : 2 cores 2 threads) . Since Dolphin is a dual core app , HT is useless

You must pair Unlocked Penitum with Z97 mobo and an aftermarket cooler like Noctua NH-L9i (low profile , extremely quiet and cheap) in order to overclock
http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/noctua_nhl9i/4.htm
Unlocked Pentium can hit 4.6GHz which is extremely fast for most games , even demanding games are no problem
http://www.digitalstormonline.com/unlocked/intel-pentium-g3258-review-and-overclocking-benchmarks-idnum298/

As for the GPU , EVGA GTX 750 will do 4xIR (2560x2112) on most games , 3xIR on demanding games . GTX 750 power consumption is only 55W (full load) , it's very efficient

Edit : You can remove aftermarket cooler option , stock heatsink is fine for 4.6GHz OC though stock heatsink = noisy
Thanks, I haven't looked into Devil's Canyon yet.

That's why I'm getting the 9 series. I"m going to be installing a Cruical M550 M.2 SSD. I'm just not 100% sure it will work (Physically it should fit). There seems to be alot of different nomenclature for this slot, so I'm a little confused. The SSD is Sata and has both 'M' and 'B' notches, and the motherboard is a type 3 M.2, based on PCIe x2. But I've got no idea on whether it will fit or not

The G3258 @4.6GHz will probably be as fast as a i3 4130, gets hotter and has a higher power consumption @oc.

@Dinujan

You better go with the 4130.

Okay, so 4150 or G3258. If I choose the G3258, I'll save 40$ on the CPU, but spend 50$ on a Z97 motherboard, and also have to settle for whatever AC Wifi module they choose instead of the Intel one I chose.

I'm planning to get either the Zalman 8900 Silent or the Noctua NH-l4i. The Zalman is 12mm taller a better cooler (quieter plus lower temps), however, I like the look of the Noctua.

Power Supply: I am planning on using a 160W Power Supply. If I go i3, I'm looking at 71+50W vs (60-100) + 50W on the G3258.
So either system is okay.

I might have failed to mention this, but I"m making an ITX HTPC, so there will be very poor airflow, and no extra fans. I can make some notches in the case, for cooling, but its going to be mainly directed at the 750 ti.

In the video, the Pentium was massacred by the i3 in compression tests, and barely kept up with the i3 in most tests. But I'm guessing for emulation, the Pentium would turn the tables? Since we're comparing ~4.6GHz to 3.5GHz
I've also changed the OS to Windows 8, I completely forgot that Ubuntu doesn't have support for Wireless AC.

Here are the two motherboards I'm considering
Z97 = http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157504
H97 = http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=10530BD7218 + WiFi (http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=12200NW1072)

Here's a picture of the Power Supply, in-case anyone was wondering

I just need to supply it with 12V/14A DC, and it will run fine.
