Animal Crossing City Folk Runs Slowly.

Ok So I know this has come up before but I just want to know of any advice. Animal Crossing City Folk runs really slowly. It usually gets about 20-30 fps and the game runs at like 30-50 % speed. Can anyone please recommend me suggestions of how to speed it up or what settings to use on the emulator.

My Computer Specs are:

Operating System: Windows 7 Home PRemum 64 Bit
CPU: AMD Athlon™ II P340 Dual-Core Processor (2 CPUs), ~2.2 GHz

Well that sucks because other games run pretty well, with occasional lag spikes. Well thanks anyways.

Do you have any recommendations of what a new-ish but good processor and GPUs I could maybe buy for my laptop.

Change "for my laptop" to "in a new laptop". More often than not, the components in laptop are not field replaceable units, therefore you can't merely buy a better CPU or GPU and install it like you would on a desktop. There have been laptops with replaceable GPUs, and a few now allow you to upgrade the CPU, but there isn't a lot of them around. For the time, effort, and money (assuming upgrades were possible on your laptop), you're better off just buying a new laptop from the get-go.

As for getting a new laptop, I'm not an expert like admin89, but you'd probably want something like an i5-3210M, and get a discrete GPU if you can. Most laptops these days can handle 1x IR at the least, and many can go above that. Most are likely to be bottlenecked by the CPU rather than the GPU, so focus on getting a good CPU first. Though if you're really looking to play Dolphin well (and cheap) I'd recommend a desktop, but that's down user preference.

If you want to play most games very well, you should get a notebook with the Core i7-3610QM and a nVidia Geforce GT 630M (enough for 2-2.5x IR) or the GeForce GT 650M (enough for 3x-4x IR).
