I managed to get Android-x86 5.1-rc1 EFI image (64-bit OS) installed onto my 64gb usb stick with rufus-2.6 "same T420 i5 laptop",
Two partitions split across the stick
Partition 1 : FAT/16? - 449MB - (Android-x86) - Made by Rufus.
Partition 2 : Ext4 - 56GB - (android/system) - Formatted with MiniTool Partition Wizard Free, Formatting in EXT3/4 allows you to get the full storage of the partition instead of the 2GB limit, the Android-x86 installer can do this also but it
's buggy and can hang and it doesn't really show you the formatting progress / percentage, I allowed the installer to install to this partition using the "do no format" option.
I couldn't get Dolphin to run it kept crashing as soon as I opened the app.
uoYabause - Worked fine but I had to use the interpreter, dynamic recompiler just crashes it.
Reicast - Worked fine, no problems.
Android-x86 5.1-rc1 EFI image (64-bit OS) in comparsion to the 32-bit version has alot of lag and crashes apps all the time.
The 32-bit version was running miles faster for me and was stable no app crashes, excluding Dolphin and is limited to 3GB ram, my full 4GB showed up in the 64-bit version. This could however been because I was running the 32-bit version as LIVE
from a single FAT32 partition installed with LiLi USB Creator instead, I never tried shrinking the FAT32 partiton and making a EXT4 partition for the installation.
