Android Dolphin Emu Manual Fix for Shake & Tilt Support

I've gotten the shaking feature working on Android! With this, I can finally beat the first boss in Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8K6d9SHTLtU)! However, even though I've also gotten the IR pointer to work, it goes all over the place on screen when I press the buttons I assigned them to that makes the IR pointer move. If possible, is there any way to fix the IR pointer so that it would behave similarly to the Wii so that it won't instantly go from one location on the screen to the other almost instantly?

What did you do to get IR to work? I've tried editing WiimoteNew.ini but my changes don't seem to be doing anything (trying to map my right stick to moving the Wii cursor). Also I noticed when I change the Wii controls within the Dolphin app it changes stuff in Dolphin.ini, but there aren't any IR settings in there as far as I can tell. If it matters, I had also set SIDevice0, etc. at the bottom of Dolphin.ini to 6 to get multiplayer working on GameCube games; does that have to be different for Wii controllers? 11-23-2015, 08:38 AM

For SIDevice, no, it doesn't have to be different for Wii Remote controllers. For IR, however, I recommend you set IR/Up = `Button 26`, IR/Down = `Button 27`, IR/Left = `Button 24`, and IR/Right = `Button 25` in WiimoteNew.ini. 11-23-2015, 09:29 AM

Aren't those already assigned to other buttons? Would you mind sharing your full WiimoteNew.ini? 11-23-2015, 09:50 AM

Oh I see what you mean about the cursor jumping around... Is there any way to hook up a mouse and use that to move it gradually? I think I only need it to start the game basically. I'm also a bit unclear on where "Button 25" (for example) is mapped to a specific button/joystick position, but they seem pretty arbitrary to me (using the NVIDIA Controller with your suggestions). 11-23-2015, 12:54 PM

So far, for using the mouse in order to control the IR, I'm not entirely sure. Also, what do you mean by not knowing where `Button 25` is? If you mean that you aren't sure where it's located at in WiimoteNew.ini, try opening up the .ini on your PC using Notepad, click on "Edit" and click "Find", and type in `Button 25` and then click "Enter". You should be able to find where it's located as it'll be highlighted in blue (if you're using Windows 7). 11-26-2015, 07:32 AM

Yes, it is possible to hook up a mouse to use as IR. The reason the IR might be very jumpy is because it has to be assigned to an axis, not a button, and in the current development build, there are no axis set up for the wiimote in android, but pr 3253 should fix that and not only add full wiimote controls, but also extensions. The buttons can be configured like any other button within the app, but the extension has to be manually set in the wiimotenew.ini file. pr 3253 along with other pull requests can be obtained here: https://dl.dolphin-emu.org/prs/ Please note that there might be issues with the pull request as it has only undergone light testing on the Nvidia Shield TV. 12-05-2015, 04:15 PM

Hmm, that pull request has now been merged in the release branch, and I see the new Wiimote settings, but I still can't seem to get them to work. I think it might be because I messed with those files before, and maybe did something that's confused it? I noticed my WiimoteNew.ini only shows the extensions now, which seems odd to me considering how much stuff was in there before. And not surprisingly (based on that observation), no controls seem to be working in Wii games now (other than Home for some reason?). How do I reset the controller settings? I tried deleting the WiimoteNew.ini file as well as some of the controller stuff in Dolphin.ini, but it didn't seem to repopulate properly. Also, anything in particular I have to do to get my mouse to work? Moving it or clicking any of its buttons didn't register when trying to assign buttons/IR stuff in the app, though the mouse cursor showed on the screen. Any ideas would be appreciated.
I am having the same issue as Arnax above regarding the new bindings. I Also tried today's build (#1763) with no luck.
Perhaps I am missing something obvious? Any setting I need to change of manually edit in the config? Glad to see that it has been worked on though. Keep up the good work! Edit: I am only having problems with getting the new bindings to work! Such as shake x, swing, tilt etc. The basic controller settings still work fine as before. |
