Hello,

Just wanted to know if there's any plans to bring Android up to speed with the latest 5.0 release of Dolphin.

Maybe some build with optimisations for Android Shield TV or something, since it's the most capable Android device to run Dolphin, even tho it's really not powerful enough to run most of the games at full speed.

Thanks for your work!

Nobody is really working on Android at the moment.

The three regular people who worked on it either got busy with life, got a new job, or isn't interested enough to hack on the aarch64 JIT more than a few times a year. Tongue

Our ARMv8 JIT is already quite good. It's not that much slower than the desktop one. But it usually runs on very low end crappy hardware, like the nvidia shield. Indeed, it's the best android based plattform, but it's still crap compared with most desktops.

Yup, I understand that, but if it was at the level of the desktop one, the games that are in 50-60fps, would probably run at 60fps and the sound wouldn't "fail" I guess? Smile
For such a low power device, every little improvement makes a difference. Anyway I'm impressed it can run some games at 60fps.

That's true, but Dolphin works perfectly on it, and games run pretty well. Only real problem is the control mapping.

There's a PR that fixes control mapping, so that problem should be gone soon.

No, not for control mapping. This PR is for moving the OSD buttons. But it's a new android contributor, so we have a high chance to get him to also do the control mapping window Wink
