as the title says.  Have our prayers been answered, and the nexus 9 gaining desktop OpenGL support?  Or is the device still regulated to OpenGL ES capabilities?

Nope, driver remains the same (v343) likely due to Google's standardization policy between Nexus line (it seems they aren't interested in bringing some extra features to one device leaving the other without it). GL isn't that important this days, once GLES 3.2 drivers will be released they should have everything Dolphin needs.

Eh not "everything".  Just most of it.  And that won't fix the broken compatibility with Tegra apps and Tegra diagnostics.  Which is BS because Qualcomm nexus device have compatibility with their tools so clearly Google is being a bit biased.

I assume we're talking Dolphin related and not CUDA stuff? if so, GL4xx won't be that much important since GL ES 3.2 will have features and extensions that Dolphin requires, lack of those it's the main bottleneck ATM.

Sonicadvance1 just mentioned this earlier:
"if they ship with Nvidia's OpenGL ES 3.2 drivers then it won't be a big deal anymore. Only a few minor things missing at that point."
