From what I recall, Google is funny about about including anything in AOSP that isn't open source. They don't even include the closed source Qualcomm JIT compiler with the Nexus, only a slower open source one. Who knows maybe we'll finally get freedreno

Freedreno has yet to have gained support for Android's build system. It needs some aspiring Android developer to port it over and then bring up support for the various things like the display controller.
Would be a lot of work. Needs to get done eventually though.
Is this link relevant? It talks about how Google is going to start including proprietary drivers in AOSP more frequently. Funny we were just talking about it.
