I recently purchased an mk808 miniPC (an android device, also called a TV-on-a-stick) rebranded as a sainsmart ss808. It has a very interesting issue that despite lots of testing I cannot figure out. So I was wondering if anyone here could shoot me any ideas.
I have two receivers in my house.
In the front bedroom I have a onkyo TX-SR308 receiver hooked up to a BenQ 24" 1920 x 1200 monitor (model G2400WD). The receiver is hooked up to the monitor via HDMI. I have two desktop PCs hooked up to the receiver via HDMI.
In the living room I have a onkyo TX-SR607 receiver hooked up to a vizio 32" 1366 x 768 HDTV (I'm not going to look up the model right now). The receiver is hooked up to the HDTV via HDMI. A blu-ray/DVD player and laptop/camera (auxiliary port) are hooked up to the receiver via HDMI.
Everything works flawlessly.
But the TV stick does not work when hooked up to either receiver via its HDMI port.
-I tried both receivers to make sure it wasn't an issue with one of the receivers
-I tried different HDMI ports on both receivers to make sure it wasn't an issue with a specific HDMI port
-I tested other devices on those same HDMI ports to make sure the HDMI board in the receiver wasn't defective
-I checked the video output settings on the TV stick to make sure they were normal
At first I thought for sure that the TV stick had a defective HDMI output port. But then I hooked it up to my monitor directly and it worked. I did the same thing with my HDTV and it worked. So it works when hooked up to either display directly, but it does not worked when hooked up to a receiver connected to the display. This is extremely inconvenient for me. I've tested everything that I can think of at this point, any ideas?
