At one point, I decided that I want to rethink my build once again and try it again from scratch. Here the new build I went for:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 82.5 CFM CPU Cooler
Motherboard: ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming 4 ATX AM4 Motherboard
RAM: G.Skill Flare X Series 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory (CAS Latency: 14 and Timing: 14-14-14-34)
SSD: Samsung 860 Evo 1 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive
GPU: Zotac GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6 GB Video Card
Case: Rosewill THOR V2 ATX Full Tower Case
Power Supply: Corsair TXM Gold 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply
OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit
After I got back from vacation, I decided that I wanted to look into Zen 2 CPU series (Ryzen 3000). I was reluctant to pick up a new CPU from AMD at first. After careful research and proper planning, I made the choice to pick up Ryzen 7 3700X, I never look back. Because I went for an AMD cpu, I need to make sure I purchase the appropriate RAM as listed from above. Afterwards, that should off to get the job done. One flaw I have with the CPU is that I won't be able to overclock the Ryzen 3000 series. It think I should be OK without the overclocking feature. While I may not be able to squeeze in 5.0 GHz to match Intel performance, it safe to say that the build I went for is acceptable. I might need to tweak video setting down a bit in order to squeeze in a few more FPS.
As I said from my previous discussion, I'm not planning to pick up the RTX 2000 series. With that said, I might want to pick up a new GPU sometimes in 2020. Should be around the time when the PS5 and next Xbox is around the corner. Anther thing I want to add is that I'm planning to add more HD this Cyber Monday or Black Friday on November. Other than that, that should be about it.
One game I forgot to mention from the previous is that I want to make sure I needed to buy the proper RAM to make sure I run ARMA III. It not really GPU demanding, ARMA III was meant to be a death sentence for CPU; especially for AMD CPU. Lucky for me, running ARMA III with the Ryzen series should offer me acceptable performance. In fact, I followed a useful guide I pick up from the Steam Forums. All it really needs is to tweak the RAM setting to around 3200 MHz, and that should be about it. I benchmark ARMA III using YAAB (Yet Another Arma Benchmark) and I manage to get around 50 FPS on Standard settings. The performance should be acceptable for my liking. I'm planning to play with a guild this fall. Should be exciting.
As stated from above, I'm planning to play MORDAU, Star Citizen and emulated software for GameCube/Wii, plus a couple other emulated software I purchased from the Nintendo eShop (Project 64, snes9x, and Mesen_0.9.6. Just to name a few.)
Other than that, that should be about it. In the meantime, I would like to take my time finishing up my writing this weekend and attend to a shooting range. Let me know what you think.
