Certain MSI motherboards claim to apply further overclocking on top of the factory OC when an MSI card is used. I'm not sure how much exactly, because they discontinued their 4GB GTX 770s in every place which sells to the UK, so haven't been able to get one and see (I got a gigabyte card with slightly higher clocks than I'd planned, though, so except the fact it was £50 more than I'd have paid for the MSI card and I had a pre-order which was never going to be fulfilled for 6 weeks it isn't so bad).

It's reasonably likely that if this does actually happen, it'll only be a small amount, so the main reason for matching brands is so the aluminium dragons on your motherboard match the dragon engravings on the GPU cooler. For most people, more OC is more important than dragon synchronisation.

I love the glowing "Geforce GTX" logo" from EVGA (reference model) . It looks cool

I would rather OC better than match my MSI. That glow though on the EVGA is Raw. Great for aesthetics but I'm looking more into the potentially dominant 780 to OC. If anyone can give me some reliable benchmarks and/or personal experience that would be quite helpful.
@AnyOldName3 If the 780 Ti is greater than the Titan, why is it priced lower? I'll definitely consider the 780 Ti then.

Edit: And if there is a better motherboard than my MSI in overclocking the GTX 700s please do let me know.

I think I am in love. And thinking about the OC potential just makes me want this card even more. It would be well worth waiting a few weeks to save enough for this bad beast.

Edit: But where can I get it?

I just check availability of that card . It seems to be out of stock
Some folks is still selling it on ebay for a ridiculous price though

Perhaps , just get the best rating GPU : GTX 780 ti Superclocked Edition
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=-1&IsNodeId=1&Description=gtx%20780ti&bop=And&Order=RATING&PageSize=20
It blows away the titan out of water

You're probably right. The Kingpin costs $850 which is $100 bucks higher and it might not be worth the wait when it's available and goes out of stock right after I try to buy it. But I will try to wait for a bit.

Edit: They'll auto-notify me when it's available. It's a race against the clock once they have it on the market again.

Theoretical benchmarks are bullshit, admin89. They told me that my GPU is far superior to a 7750, iirc.

As I compare specs on every other 780 Ti, the law of diminishing returns is woking overtime. Might as well just get a regular overclocked 780 TI.

But I will give the Kingpin a week or 2.

Who ?
Both cards have the same performance for all I know

Bullshit or not , both GTX 780TI and Titan are based on the same architecture (Kepler GK110) . So theoretical benchmarks are correct at this point
In BF3 benchmark , GTX 780ti SC Edition is faster than GTX Titan
