Hey, so here is the deal, I aways preferred AMD CPUs and Nvidia GFX cards (yeah I know, matter of opinion, dont question me please) so I have a motherboard with an nvidia chipset and a socket for amd cpus, but now that amd owns ATI their mobos only have AMD chipsets (or other chipsets not NV) so if I buy one of these and place a Nvidia card on it is there any risk of having any compatibility issues or some performance loss if compared to a nvidia card working with a Nvidia chipset?

It's not really brand loyality, it's like I said, I like their products most, for what they are. I like Nvidia graphics cards for to give some examples because of the Nvidia's focus. I like the NVidia control panel, I like PhysX and the CUDA technology Wink

Same for AMD, it's not because the name written in the product's box, it's because I know what's inside it. Wink

liking nvidia i can understand, their drivers rarely are the actual cause of users problems (they just get blamed for user error alot)

liking AMD when its become a third rate cpu manufacturer though.......

I aint planning a upgrade without doin' some search Squall, Intel has the best high end CPUs, AMD offers a better cost-benefit for those who do not want to spent too much money Wink
That's why I did this thread in the first place Tongue
