I don't like the idea of Streaming as it yields Latency and compression

Not to mention that people will still find older builds, and still complain then. Have you thought this through? 10-09-2013, 11:47 PM

There is also a new AMD Audio API called TrueAudio
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/radeon-r9-...796-5.html Quote: AMD says that audio gets as much as 10% of a game’s CPU utilization budget, limiting what developers can do. But with TrueAudio, AMD wants to guarantee the availability of real-time processing resources specifically for sound, and regardless of the host CPU you have installed. 10-10-2013, 10:40 AM
Before anyone asks, no, it won't help us with DSP emulation. Someone might come around and build an audio backend for it, but I don't see it being that beneficial.

Don't know how Trueaudio is going to reduce cpu load, but long time ago we had this thing called hardware sound acceleration. You know, where you use the sound card's cpu to do sound, instead of the main CPU in your machine? This used to exist with Direct Sound before Microsoft removed it in Vista on up. Now it only exists in OpenAL, and the only sound card that uses this is Creative Sound Cards.
