Hello I heard somewhere AMD does not support dolphin fully, I also heard emulation is bad on it. Is this true? If so do they plan on making AMD support better?
Amd is bad for emulation?

hello,
I think INTEL is the best, but expensive. I use AMD Phenom II quad 3.2 Ghz on linux and haven't problems, AMD is ok for dolphin Thk
AMD phenom II 955 3.6 Ghz OC
Nvidia GT 430 1 Go ( Nvidia drivers for linuxand xp ) hdmi out for dolphin Ati 4200 HD embedded for working etc... 6 Go DDR2 Squeeze Debian amd 64 / sometime xp 32 ( dual boot ) HDMI on tv, cool for game ![]()
I believe they were talking about sse4, sse3, etc the instruction sets that are intel only...
Some dolphin builds are optmized for those sets
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64bit Creators Update
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 960 @ 3.6 GHz Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 2GB GDDR5 Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-870A-USB3 AM3+ Revision RAM: HyperX 8GB Dual Channel @ 1600Mhz 02-26-2011, 11:24 AM
most amd processors (be it phenom x2 to phenom x6) use the age-old K10 architecture which isn't optimal for dolphin.
with an overclock you'll definitely run games at decent speeds on a dual core phenom but in general intel is faster clock for clock. wait for bulldozer/zambezi processors to be released before upgrading to an AMD rig. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bulldozer_(processor) |
